Where is that "like" button?

@SUP, Learn, do and more power to you. But please be careful. I forget my share of stuff too. A buffer is a dangerous tool but probably not beyond your abilities. Someone on this forum posted this. (Yeah, who is just another thing that I forgot.) JM2C, Jim PS. I've "thrown" a few things myself but no one has been injured yet.

@EricaJane, I found the one that @Wizcrafts did and @chuck123wapati linked very useful for my purpose. I only wish I'd stumbled upon it before my first two sewing machine purchases. Knowing me, I might not have listened anyway. Good luck with your search and hopefully subsequent purchase. Jim

@EricaJane, I started to welcome you to the forum but saw that you joined in 2018! That is 3 years before I joined. You must REALLY be the strong, silent type. Good to hear from you anyway! JM2C, Jim

@AlZilla, Just an FYI. Pure Neatsfoot oil and Neatsfoot oil compound are two different things. I only use the pure NFO. JM2C, Jim

Well, if you want opinions, I got 'em! Seriously, I think the piping "hides" the stitching on a turned item. It should also protect the thread from abrading if exposed. JM2C, Jim

This is what’s it is all about,

Worth at least a million bucks. Probably more with inflation. -
Don't know how I missed this one. Beautiful Saddle.

Are Basket-Weave Stampers Negligent!?!
jrdunn replied to RVM45's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
It seems to me people are getting too wound up about someone else's work. If I don't (or do) basket stamp the back of a holster, why does it matter to you unless you are the buyer( or the maker). If I don't like how you did your work, who cares unless I am your target demographic? I really am having trouble understanding why this is such a big deal and quite a long running thread. As usual, JM2C. Jim -
I have sewn 2 layers of W&C 2-3 oz bridle leather in a test. It worked much better than expected but the 277 thread that I had on hand was too large. The knot was centered well but somewhat visible from both sides. Looks a little strange. I think 138 would've been much better. Might get by with 207 but I had just gotten it and wanted to try it out. JM2C, Jim

I bought one from @RockyAussie and received it here in good old Oklahoma, USA. Price and shipping time was more than reasonable. Very happy with it. I too haven't taken it off yet. JM2C, Jim

Yup, 60's. I blame most of my shortcomings on that now days.

If this has been me, and it has at times. Maybe not to you. At least I hope not. I will apologize anyway. Sometimes I forget, sometimes I get excited and worst of all, sometimes I'm too blamed "hard headed" to take good advice. My point being, it seems to me that some people are jerks on purpose. Others, and I include myself in this group, are jerks by accident. Like Tom Petty said, "I can't decide which is worse." So if I haven't irritated you yet, I'd like to bank this apology for later. I'll also apologize for the post length and run on sentences. JM2C, Jim

I think leather would look good on your ATV. I don't think it would wear as well as the HDPE that the fenders are made of. It would prevent scratches to the fenders, though. I wouldn't loosen the joint of the black to red plastic. The black plastic supports your weight when you stand up and gets part of it's support from those connections. Also, bear in mind that my use might well be very different than yours. My plastic had several scratches and eventually cracks from riding the brush, mud and "mountains" of western Arkansas. Still runs like a top, though. We were hard on them. YMMV, Jim

If you find the price of original too expensive...

Sorry, my bad. I did not get it. Duh! -

Not to rain on your parade, but. . . According to the info that I have, the pistol wasn't designed until 1936. JM2C, Jim -
Has anyone attended Jim Linnell's classes at Tandy?

@SUP, You are sooo right! I forgot the link. Apologies. -

If you just want a "taste" of Jim Linnell's classes, here is a link to SLC's class that he does. This is for part one. I think it has three. You can watch, pause and watch more. JM2C, Jim(not Linnell) -
How to choose the best servo motor for a Juki LU563
jrdunn replied to ValJ's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
I have sewn two 10 oz. veg tan. I don't really recommend it. If you do, use SHARP needles. I have a CB4500 for thicker stuff now. I now use it for softer and thinner leather and putting zippers in. I didn't have any interest in a needle positioner, still don't. I'm not sure about this but. . . I think the problem arises when your positioner indexes off the motor. Then the 3:1 reduction messes with your position sensor. I believe that if your sensor indexes off the handwheel of the machine, it should work as designed. I'm not sure, though. There are people on the forum way smarter than me on this stuff. Hopefully, they'll chime in. JM2C, Jim- 19 replies

How to choose the best servo motor for a Juki LU563
jrdunn replied to ValJ's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
@ValJ, I replaced the clutch motor on my Juki 562(If I recall correctly, the LU563 replaced the LU562.) with a 550W brush servo motor from https://www.tolindsewmach.com/motors.html also. I did install a speed reducer at the same same time, though. Works great for me. JM2C, Jim- 19 replies
