Ok ladies and gents, this is my first project. Please critique but please keep in mind that it is my first project and I am on a limited budget (this was completed with scraps, a hole punch, a razor knife, and some dye). Thank you in advance.

Made my first wallet yesterday, I also tested out my new mini branding iron ; I think I held it on for too long, the branding is quite a bit thicker and darker than it should have been. But I designed it myself and I'm pleased with it otherwise! Leather is just scrap. My pricking irons were too small for the stitching I wanted, so I had to use the single. I tried my best to make the spacing consistent, but it's not perfect. Let me know what you think!

I just finished a wallet for my daughter. I thought I would post it here. I only get to punch leather about 4 hours a week, I got a business, a family, and a ranch, that keep me busy. I have been looking at the work you guys do and its fantastic stuff, I know mine is not as good but I'm still proud of it. The wallet didn't come out as planned. It's thicker and not as flexible as I wanted. And I know there are mistakes on it. But she's getting it anyway.

Just finished up this long wallet prototype on the weekend - this was my first attempt at a zipper and it worked out ok. I've made many wallets and field tested them all, I'm finding that with wallets, something might look good, but it ends up being not practical or functional enough for me IRL. I don't want to be standing at the cash register and shoving folded bills into my minimalist wallet, or fighting with three cards stacked on top of each other. This zippered pocket pleases my, aesthetically, but I can't imagine what I would carry in it. And the fact that it floats does not appeal to my girlfriend, but it makes sense from a design standpoint since it may get bulky. I'm working on version 2.0 and will incorporate a fold-over snap closure of some sort. And probably go for the obligatory grommet/chain attachment "biker" look, just to give it a go. I'd appreciate comments about or experiences with form over function, that to me is the real challenge with this craft. Once you get the skills to be able to craft these things, then it comes down to making it better. (stronger, faster ). Feedback is most welcomed. Have a great day folks!

From the bag of goodies I had dropped off yesterday, the first item I decided to do. A 64 year old wallet interior from Tandy leather that had an original price tag of $1.20. I married it to a plain black back and did the Mexican round braid on the edges. Just wanted something basic to go along with the age :D

my youngest (10 soon 11) son finally got around to making his "anvil style" wallet hear it is! Only the carving is me. He did all the rest with dad watching and coaching. and the last one is his whole rig. belt, Puuko, wallet all matching sunburst airbrushed by him ! I helped with the construction of the sheath and belt. The antiquing and coloration on the wallet are Liquitex acrylics. Enjoy!

Hey guys - Here's a bifold wallet I just finished for myself. I decided on a crab design because I'm from Oregon and we love our dungeness there and am also a Cancer in the zodiac thingy. Initials are on the front, crab design on back. Traced it from a real picture of a dungeness I found on the internet. Stitching is tandy brown polyester. Edges beveled and then burnished with gum tragacanth. Made it from a 4-5oz single shoulder from Tandy but had to skive it down a bunch so it wasn't too thick. More pics at www.instagram.com/leathercrabwallet Please let me know what you think. Thanks! Ted

So I've finally taken some pictures of my projects. I've been a busy beaver My favorite by far is the embossed alligator wallet. I made one for myself as a tester and for some reason the embossed gator feels so amazing in the hand! Thanks for checking it out. There are several things that I know I could do better on each, but if you see something you would like to critique feel free

my middle son (12 yrs) wanted a simplistic wallet I didn't want his 1st self made to be a kit so I had him do a image search for 2 things a bi-fold and the letter "j" he found the Anvil leather wallets and chose that style. then found the "j" (which I carved for him) his carving skills are not as good as his assembly.(we're working on that) he did use a Gomph seeder to background the "j" interior. I did the pattern layout for him, he cut all the leather did all the stitching to include making the stitching holes with my new set of stitching chisels he also airbrushed the color and lined the wallet. For his first leather project he did a fantastic job in my opinion! he burnished the edges and did all the work. I am very proud of his ability to follow my instructions, I gave him practice runs at each and every step of the process then moved to the real deal. He tells me he wants to make another one or a knife sheath. As always comments and questions are welcome.
