Some time ago there was a young lady who did a tutorial on watch strap making. I think she was making, tooling, and painting an Apple Watch strap. I have searched the forums but can't find it anymore. Does anyone remember this? Can you point me to it?

I'm repairing/replacing a watch band for a family friend. I want to use the original hardware, but it's not in great shape. It's cheap brass-plated and it has some kind of ... gunk? ... on it from the old strap. I've tried a few home remedies for cleaning brass with only limited success. Should I try taking a wire brush to it? I don't want to wreck it, otherwise I'll have to buy a new buckle set, which means extra cost for the customer (and me). Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi I am looking for a supplier that is able to produce a custom coloured nubuck suitable for use as the inner lining in a watch strap. We changed our requirement from suede to nubuck based on feedback. The quantities would be small to begin with but I'd expect them to grow as our company evolves. Am happy to pay a bit extra for a small run initially. Thank you Jonathan

Leatherworkers, I have these sets of tapered, watch strap patterns available for order. The set includes the following tapers: 24/22mm, 22/20mm, 20/18mm, and 18/16mm. They are made from 1/4" acrylic, with laser etched markers. Each pattern comes with a hole on one end to hang up, or tie together, for organization. PayPal (tylernewberry gmail com), $45, US shipped, international rates available. Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Everybody! Is it possible to make your own watch band and tool or stamp it? If so what is the thinnest leather that can be tooled/stamped? Also does anyone know of a place to get free watch band templates? Thanks and stay awesome!

I bought a watch from a megaboxcheapy store and the band was faux leather. It fell apart rather quickly and so instead of buying a new watch band I realized I could make one similar to the original but better. Here is the fruit of my labor. It is goat skin and brass rings. I opted for snaps instead of the usual watch/belt buckle thingy because I was making it for my wrist and I knew how big my wrist is. The worst part I had to go back to the store and buy another watch because as I was working on it the darn thing slipped through my fingers and proceeded to land face first. Luckily I just had to pull the pins on the old one and pop the new one in. Please let me know of anything I could do better

I want to make some nato watch straps, similar to the attached image, but I cant find ANYWHERE that sells the hardware. If anyone knows where I could get that kind of buckle/loops (especially if its solid brass) I'd be super pumped! Thanks!

Hello! Pretty new here and this is my first post. I recently started making watch straps for myself and I can't wrap my head around how to sew like this and make it comfortable on the backside: Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

lately i've made myself two quite similar wristwatches. not quite a big deal but i like them :-) i have bought two cheap clocks from china (around 15-20 dollars) which look of high value even when they're not at all^^ i have "sealed" the back with a fine leather piece to cover all the rivets and leather straps. also you can at anytime put the wristclock off the bracelet to change batteries or wristclock... i have put some pictures step-by-step to my non commercial website: http://www.scortea.a...lio-lederuhr-20 http://www.scortea.a...deruhr_nr__2-21 maybe it helps some peeps :-) happy leatherworking! - manuel
