  1. If it is the timing it is super easy to check and set on a straight needel if you have manual. Do you have the bobbin thread pulled up under the tension spring arm? I sewed on a straight needle for years and most of my tension problems were because I had the top tension to tight.
  2. Search the internet for how to adjust sewing machine tension and it will explain how adjust your tension.
  3. I use round and head knives everyday I work. In the past I used the Stanley type knives. But if you learn to use a round of head knife you throw rocks at the Stanley knives.
  4. They will take some stains off of leather. Maybe you will get lucky and they will work for you.
  5. Lime or lemon juice if you already have it.
  6. Patterns are not that hard to make and you will have your own original design. The trouble with not learning to make your own patterns is your stuck useing what somebody else came with. Somewhere along the line your going to need on a certain size and not be able to find a ready made pattern. JMHO
  7. I don't have a pattern but you can make one real easy whatever size you want. Get some poster board or a file folder mark a center line draw one side out cut it, fold it on the center line and mark the other side. Then you can use that piece to make the back side and add a flap if you want one. If you want a gusset cut it how ever wide and long you want and your set to go to lace or sew it.
  8. The Weaver one looks like a tandy one to me. Get a Orsborn with the inter changable ends. You have a divider and and 2 grooveing ends i think it'll open up to about 6 inchs.
  9. I think you did a nice job. But i would change a couple of things. Do away with the strap it's in the way when you write a check and i would put the pen holder on the inside because it's going to make writeing a check a problem looks like to me. When you write the check it's going to be rocking on the pen holder till it gets mashed down. IMHO
  10. I've had a Pro 2000 over 20 years and i've treaded it just like Bob does in the video all that time except i go though the top post one time.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boZOA4MTu2Y
  11. Look at a french seam if I'm understading what your asking right.
  12. I bought some things from them several years ago. No problems.
  13. What part of the hide did you cut that out of ?
  14. Most of the time i pick the stitches out and start over with a full bobbin. Try to remember and check the bobbin before you start and have more than one bobbin full so you can take one out if you think theirs not enough thread to sew what you need to.
  15. Make a band put a couple of letters on with all the different things wear it and see what happens. I would try a extra fine Sharpie and see what happens it's perment ink i think.
  16. Take the old stitching out where it's broke or loose. When you get ready to glue it back togeather take a few needles, tacks or tooth picks and line the holes up. You don't need one in every hole but enough to get it lined up. If your talking about a speedy stitcher i wouldn't use that. Use two needles and sew it back.
  17. Guessing the rod is pressed in and not screwed togeather. Saws All or a hacksaw should work fine.
  18. Wondering why the Ferdco / Juki.....Cobra thread was deleated ??? Or was myself and others politics incorrect when we answered the question and gave or opinion's ??? I have seen several pretty heated discissions on what was best a needle awl or a single needle machine and to the best of my knowllage none of those were deleated.
  19. On the Pfaff feet sand with belt sander or file them smooth. The Cobra i don't know for sure but they should be smooth except for a blanket foot.
