  1. Please post jpeg or png files. Reduce the file size by resizing the pic to 800 pixels in the longest dimension like I did for your pic.
  2. The back surface of marble or granite needs to be flat. And the surface you have it on needs to be flat as well. A slab placed on a concave surface will crack and break when you pound on the middle of the slab. It may take a few hits, or a few hundred hits, but it will eventually break, especially the harder you pound it. Any little flaws in the material will result in breaking sooner than a slab with no internal flaws. The thicker the slab, the longer it will last. If you do any brick or stone work, you will learn the techniques for marking and breaking the material. Some people place the slab on a bed of sand build into their bench. Others on top of a towel, or rubber pad. I have a very flat work table and bench. I put a towel under the slab so it is easier to move, and so it doesn't scratch up the table or bench surface. I have one small piece that is 8"x13" quartz (engineered stone) that was a sample for a counter top. This small size is handy for portable use. I pasted a piece of felt to the back. Should do the same to my 12"x24" slabs, or maybe even use a piece of leather since I have lots available.
  3. If you use a Google Search, you can use all the different types of search parameters, rules, etc. Their search engines and indexing are far more powerful and faster than here at LW. Use "site:URL 'your search parameters' " Example "site:leatherworker.net watch straps" https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=site%3Aleatherworker.net+watch+straps Adjust the search parameters as you wish to find the posts that are related.

  10. Does your servo motor have a brake? Pressing the pedal a bit may release the brake making it much easier to turn. The brake may be able to be disconnected. Do a Google search for servo motor and brake. "site:leatherworker.net servo motor brake" Type in this string without the quotes. site:URL limits the search to the URL specified.
  11. Please post your photos here. 3rd party hosted photos frequently disappear due to changes in the host's policies, host out of business, users moving files, deleting files, closing their account or the account expiring. When this happens, the post becomes worthless to all future users who are researching or looking for help to solve a problem. If your files are too large to post here due to file size restrictions, you need to resize your files to fit. Follow this link for some helps and suggestions. https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/15122-how-to-post-pictures-on-lw/?do=findComment&comment=551171 There are lots of Apps, software, and online tools available on the web, or even built into your device to enable you to reduce your file sizes. 800 pixels in the longest dimension is quite adequate. Smart phone screens and many monitors don't display high res files in high resolution. People that live on the fringes of the internet appreciate smaller file sizes and high res photos may take from 10 minutes to hours to download.
  12. IP address shows he is located in the London (Dalston), England, E8 3GT, United Kingdom area.
  13. Moved your post to Leather Sewing Machines. Have you tried searching this area?
  14. Moved your post to Leather Sewing Machines. This site has limited file sizes for photo. So when you post photos, resize the photos to 800 pixels in the longest dimension and you have lots of room for photos. It's also a good idea to add your location to your profile. It helps get the input and help from people closer to you. From your IP address, looks like you are in Texas.
  15. Thank you for re-posting the photos.
  16. Post this request in Home > Fabrication > Leather Sewing Machines Start a new thread. You'll get more response there.

  18. And Ontario is worse than Alberta. You can't even walk around an old abandoned acreage or farm without the owners permission without risk of being charged with trespassing fenced or not. So if you are injured while trespassing, you are likely on your own, plus trespass charges. For many years, Ontario's regulations for all sorts of things have been lots more restrictive than Alberta's.
  19. How do we contact you?
  20. Safety clutch (if your machine has one) tripped? Loose grub screws on the shaft driving the hook shaft? Look under the machine to see what is moving or not. Maybe it's time to take it to a repair shop.
  21. Have you had a read through this thread? You can search for servo motors and find lots of information in many threads. Basically, a servo motor has variable speed and only runs while sewing. A clutch motor runs all the time and you have to learn to feather the clutch to make the machine run slow. It is even more sensitive than a clutch on a car with a standard transmission. It goes from 0 to 60 in a split second.
  22. You should at least list the equipment with model numbers if possible so that people know what you actually have for sale.
