  1. yes that is correct. you said Fabric ? do you think the Fabric is compressing a lot? if so use a shorter Rivet
  2. Steve we strive to help. Nice looking web site. If i were going to do the white on a seat, and you being a painter. In the U S , at the shoe repair shops there is a Paint that comes in an aresol spray can Meltonian...Nu-Life ColorSpray.. The again you might want to experiment with some Lacuqor Paint. Now be prepared to do a lot of masking with tape. this would be a better white than the acrylic......hope this helps you.

    Higgy your Bags are superb.... what did you do before you started doing leather work. I am amzed with each Bag that you do.
  7. from what you are saying.... i think your Rivets are too long. they should have about 1/16" of the post showing. Buying an oldre rivet machine from e-bay and getting modern dies to fit could cause problems for you.. Check the rivet press and dies out at your local Tandy.

  9. Steve i dye up to the lettering with black, then use cova white to dye the lettering then apply 3 coats of satin sheen to all surface of the belt then use fiebings antique black and wipe it off and what remains is in the depressions around the lettering.

  12. I use it a lots. i get mine at Home Depot or Lowes. it's the "industrial strength" kind........the Bikers will appreciate it.........
  13. Go with the Cobra 4 ...."its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it" the word will get out on you that you can do heavy duty sewing and this is where the longer arm will come in handy.
  14. For a finish i use Satin Sheen , it works for me. Lace or sew the bilfold and put it to good use.your son will love it for a long time. untill he looses it, mine lost 2....

  18. Welcome to the L W ......this is what i did... I bought on each of the KITS THAT I WANTED TO MAKE.. I then made a pattern of them and kept the instructions for further use. Now fast forward...Buy you some leather and cut the projects from your patterns. and as you get more profecient you will be able to make your own. the next time you are at the Tandy store, look at the books there will be items shown that you might wish to make. YOU MADE THAT SHOT POUCH YOU CAN MAKE A LOT OF ITEMS
