Anyone can claim anything they want on a website. Those dog collars would be more of a patent iss and not a copyright thing. It’s to generic an object to be patented any more. A design on the collar could be a copyright but not the basic collar. Consider the Kleenex. They copyrighted the name and the patterns but not the facial tissue it self.

Have you tried a different bobbin? If the bobbin is wound too tight or inconsistently it could cause the problem you are having. Mine did that once and when I changed the bobbin it worked again. Also make sure the thread is coming off the bobbin the right direction. If its in backwards it will screw things up. It should come off the roll counter-clockwise. Let me know if that doesn't fix it. That's how I do them. I also use an oblong 1/4 punch for the lace hole down the center.

I understand you are trying to get away from veg tanned but what about Harness Leather? The grain will have a higher durability and be more water resistant than saddle leather. The only downside would be that it is not "rugged" looking. Just a thought. Michael

The red one can be purchased at Wal-mart or any store that has a sewing section. It's a standard seam ripper.

90% or greater rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol will remove resolene. You might need to redye the leather after removing the Resolene. Make sure you cut it 50/50 with water and let the first coat really dry, over night, before the second coat. I use a damp sponge or cloth. works fine.

Let your leather dry out a little more. It looks like it was too wet when you did the stamping. What do you have under the leather when you stamp it? It might be that there is too much flex when its hit. You have a good start and will do just fine with practice.

What thickness leather did you use?

Try thinning and spraying something like clear lac instead of the Resolene. This should not react to the 3M 77 since Clear Lac is "hot".

Start with a quality piece of leather that has a smooth back. A little LIGHT sanding and a glass slicker and it will look really good. The other option is to use contact cement to hold 2 pieces together. I know you didnt want to use cement but a good contact cement along with doing a good job on the edges and you will not see a line along the edge. The contact cement will hold well and forever if you apply it correctly. YMMV

Cut it 50/50 with water. I use a disposable foam brush to apply it. As long as you cut it you will not get bubbles. I put on 2 coats and it works fine.

Being a renter the only option I see that remains viable is the trailer. I'm not sure how advantageous having your entire shop at a show but it is an option. Thats my 2cents.

When you pull the belt through the buckle to get it tight enough to put the tongue in a hole are you bending the belt a lot at the buckle? Those kind of wrinkles can be caused by bending the leather backwards. This can happen when the belt is pulled through the buckle to tighten it. A roller buckle helps prevent this. Here is an example of a roller buckle

What dye are you currently using, which company and type? How are you trying to dye it?

Stitch after you dye and apply the finish. Take a paper bag and wipe off the excess wax before stitching. Pull the thread between your fingers protected by brown paper bag. This removes the excess wax. Is that thread or Tandy's waxed Sinew? FYI, Tandy makes crap thread.

From a weight standpoint the cast iron is heaver. The Aluminum version has had some updates to it over the years. There seems to be a nostalgia for the Cast Iron but I prefer the Aluminum version as it is a little lighter and tends to run a little bit better. Either one is a good machine. You can always get the Iron one updated at the factory. Its not that expensive. Short answer, The really isnt that much of a difference to make a person switch from one to the other. When I order a Herman Oak side at 8/9 the minimum thickness is 8oz and the Max is 9oz. There is nothing thicker or thinner than that. I have seen Tandy state that their light Saddle Skirt varies from 11 to 8 as they are not split to uniform thickness
