  1. Amazing job squirrel. Cheryl
  2. I think it looks great. I would use a snap instead of a button stud but if you can't set snaps easily like me, i've used a lot of button studs Cheryl
  3. A blood knot is where you cut a slit in the leather and pull the rest of the leather through it. On this collar it's been done over and over. Here's a picture where I just did it twice.
  4. I've dealt with them in the past and they are reasonably priced and excellent to work with. Cheryl
  5. glock, they're just small belts. I don't have a pattern but I don't use one. I put 5 holes in the front, measure from the third to the middle of the buckle to size them. just use a strap cutter. I make mine 5/8ths, an inch and 1 & 1/2 inches. Cheryl
  6. See? Even mad scientist get it right sometimes Cheryl
  7. Nuttish I bought some similar to those from turtle feathers and I used the fine point the first time and kept missing the edge and drawing on thee grain or back. I am not sure anyone except those of us that experience shaky hands understand how this is not an easy fix. I am so frustrated. Cheryl
  8. Tom I bought two pens as soon as they were mentioned. I used the fine on an edge and it kept slipping (I was using it from the side because I got frustrated with the pace of dying with the tip) and ended up getting dye all over. I ordered a dropper so I can fill it better and I'm going to try it again but I don't think they are going to work for me. I am so frustrated with this whole search for a way to dye edges.....But it's nice to knw I'm not alone. Cheryl
  9. squirrel that is awesome. cheryl
  10. Mikie is nice to see ya home. I wouldn't call myself a veteran, still a student of the craft. I love it when I can help someone and find there's still so many things I can't answer. I have found a niche that I'm going to focus on now, pet supplies, collars, leads, etc. Well strappy stuff, belts, bracelets too. May call the website that. Strappy stuff It's nice seeing you. I'm surprised you didn't put your rose on. Cheryl
  11. LOL Daryl, it looks nice. And the carving is nice too. Cheryl
  12. bags are very cool, Cheryl
  13. I agree with the OP about repairs. I had a woman bring a purse strap to me that had frayed. She told me the purse wasn't name brand or anything special she just liked it. The were thin straps and maybe a foot long. Took me maybe 1/2 to redo them and made a quick 10 bucks. That said, I've been doing this 4 years and I'm getting ready to specialize in 'strappy stuff.' I like making it, people pay a lot of money for their pets and beside that I will have belts which always sell. Will I turn down a repair or the odd custom order that comes along? Probably not, they allow me to do what I like to do. But I need to cut down my products to a reasonable diversity. Cheryl
  14. David someone recommended the edge roller to mee. I thought you said you'd already tried it. I just bought those fiebings sharpies where you add your own dye and going to give them a shot at 3.50 before I buy that edge roller from Tandy for 30.00. Colt my hands are very shaky too which is why I'm looking for things also. I'll let you folks know if these pens work for someone without a natural talent. Cheryl
  15. chrstn would you ship this? Texas dies sells these and ups ships them for around 200.00 if they don't go over 150 lbs. Thanks Cheryl
  16. I meant didn't work for you. There are people who freehand their edges but I'll never be one f those people Cheryl
  17. Well David you saved me some money when you said the edge roller didn't work. I'm going to try the pens because I'v been doing this 4 years and leeave my edges undyed because of fear of getting the dye on the front or back. Thanks, Cheryl
