Images In Signatures Should Be Banned
DoubleC replied to AndersenLeather's topic in Feedback and Suggestions
I wondered why you objected to your own signature because I saw your urls with the name in it. But it was obviously just to advertise. What a cutesy ploy. BTW I didn't go to thee urls because I realized they were yours. You can contact admin for advertising........Cheryl -

What Is The Point Of A Head/round Knife?
DoubleC replied to Windrider30's topic in How Do I Do That?
Zulu you didn't say anything. And I shouldn't have either. If people want to think theey know everything there is to know, it's none of my business. -
Hi Tall. Could you let us know how it turns out for you? I placed some guitar straps at our only music store free and didn't sell a one. And I placed 3 dog collars at the vets and same thing. I grabbed the collars after a year and 1/2 and took them to the farmers market with me and sold one the second week. Neither one were charging a consignment fee but that doesn't matter much if nothing is selling. I hope you have great luck with this. Please let us know. Cheryl

What Is The Point Of A Head/round Knife?
DoubleC replied to Windrider30's topic in How Do I Do That?
You ask a question on here and you get mostly help and then a joker (sometimes more) that tells you, 'I taint never needed no rounded knife so taint no one needs no rounded knife. ' and scoffs at you for even asking. I remember when this use to happen to me when I was new and I wonder why some people are allowed to continually scoff at questions and treat real answers with disdain. I hope you found your answer in among all the noise and cruel jokes. Cheryl -
I've used belly for both the dog collars I made my girl. She's around 60 lbs and quite a puller because she wants to go everywhere fast. It was one of the first projects I made so I had to replace the first one because of mistakes I made, but not stretching. The second one is python, belly and Italian leather liner and it's really a sturdy beauty! Cheryl

Finished A Rifle Sling For A Friend
DoubleC replied to Colt W Knight's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
very nice Colt. Cheryl -
Yeah I just meant I would have passed on making it. I think it makes the collar look trashy but the customer is always right I guess

I make my belts and dog collars, etc out of the belly which they put a straight edge on. Makes using a strap cutter easier. I use the ones from Springfield Leather Company and haven't had a problem with stretching etc. using the firm parts. Cheryl

Hi Memory, an unusual concept for a collar. I like it a lot except for the spikes. I refuse to use them but it's a matter of preference. Cheryl

Coin Holder Help, Ideas Needed
DoubleC replied to phil7153's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
This closure is made for coin holders and would allow you make them in different shapes plus hold more than one coin. It's the spring clasp. http://springfieldleather.com/23547/Frame%2CPurse%2CSqueeze-Coin/ Sorry, SLC links aren't working for some reason, all are going to 'page not found' If you type in coin purse closure it will take you to the page. That's just a camo stamp and a basket weave stamp. You can pick those up for 10 bucks a piece at slc or tandy.

Long Wallet. Please Critique
DoubleC replied to Jiri Taowski's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
I think it looks great. I would use a snap instead of a button stud but if you can't set snaps easily like me, i've used a lot of button studs Cheryl -
A blood knot is where you cut a slit in the leather and pull the rest of the leather through it. On this collar it's been done over and over. Here's a picture where I just did it twice.

I've dealt with them in the past and they are reasonably priced and excellent to work with. Cheryl

glock, they're just small belts. I don't have a pattern but I don't use one. I put 5 holes in the front, measure from the third to the middle of the buckle to size them. just use a strap cutter. I make mine 5/8ths, an inch and 1 & 1/2 inches. Cheryl

Dye Edges How To Avoid Getting Dye On The Grain Or Flesh Side?
DoubleC replied to DavidL's topic in How Do I Do That?
Nuttish I bought some similar to those from turtle feathers and I used the fine point the first time and kept missing the edge and drawing on thee grain or back. I am not sure anyone except those of us that experience shaky hands understand how this is not an easy fix. I am so frustrated. Cheryl -
Dye Edges How To Avoid Getting Dye On The Grain Or Flesh Side?
DoubleC replied to DavidL's topic in How Do I Do That?
Tom I bought two pens as soon as they were mentioned. I used the fine on an edge and it kept slipping (I was using it from the side because I got frustrated with the pace of dying with the tip) and ended up getting dye all over. I ordered a dropper so I can fill it better and I'm going to try it again but I don't think they are going to work for me. I am so frustrated with this whole search for a way to dye edges.....But it's nice to knw I'm not alone. Cheryl
