got some fabulous roses from wilrose, they look great in our living room. We are celebrating our 15th anniversary (which because of the amount of leather about this year) have christened it our leather anniversary. My partner loves them, and so do I. The photo does not do them justice, thanks wildrose!

I use the friends question all the time, I have two friends I ask, one is a cheap pricer (a spendthrift) the other always over prices (a professional artist) I hit the average no one complains. another thing, if you ask for a high price you can always drop it if when your done it doesn't add to that, if your low prices doesn't cover it you got problems. People will argue with you to keep the original price either way one way you winthe other you loose. Pip

Thanks folks, recovered from the hang over (just). I am from over the water, thats the mersey not the pacific. I live on the Wirral about 1 mile from the city centre, but seperated by the second fastest flowing river in northern hemisphere. so people call us plastic scousers. I was born in chester, as I gave my mum a few problems as I was three weeks late and huge 10 or 11lb in weight. My mum was in labour for a very long time. Sorry mum! thanks for your thoughts!

I have to say, that I agree with all this in some degree or another. I have posted items in the critique section and expected criticism, if i don't want critisism then I post in the show off section (although I still expect some criticism). I think if someone says you could do this better then I listen, If they say you suck then I figure they don't like it. No biggy. I have been fortunate to grow up in an area where criticism is freely given, and our sense of humour revolves around taking the mickey out of each other. So I am not overly sensitive, but helpful criticism is always welcome. One thing I do find difficult, is to get my point across, without sounding like an Arse especially when I am tired. I often reword posts several times and end up deleting them before I post, or afterward (in one specific case) finding that they sound mean or unhelpful. I am new(ish) to leather but have been an artist, woodland crafter, bushcrafter for a long time. All the forums I have attended I have ended up putting my foot in it, at least once (or twice). Ah ha moments are really important especiaslly when backed up with knowledge of someone who has done it before.

I think, the difference is (and I am on rocky ground saying this, it is not meant in a sexist way at all) that women can be more intuitive with the materials they use and become what I call A-D thinkers, meaning they pick up a material feel it, bend it touch it and make/design, wheras men in general start with a design in mind and then try and fit the material to it making them D-A thinkers. The masters of both sexes become both. A-D and D-A...... i have a male friend who can pick up anything and create it is fantastic to watch the process working, he can also work the other way around, sometimes at the same time. Don't tell the misses about male chef's I'd have to cook better!!
