  1. Looks like you found another nice machine. Regards to the subclass differences maybe have to google some singer sites. I believe refering to servicing can be very vague for mechanic or technician related task. Especially if the mechanical trade is your history. We may seem ocd about specific task done being the relevant. I respectfully mention that in reference to other issues with the prior machine or machines in discussion. Being that the troubles or issues can and sometimes be a or need operator adjustment for a particular new project. With that I find it handy to veiw the operator check list in the operator manuals. This has helped me in the past. I sure was looking for one of them machines not so long ago, in searching the site here you could find a lot of singer machine post. Sames goes as above google may be faster in that search and specifically pointed at this site in the search. Have a good day Floyd
  2. Yes, I agree totally keeping within the machines needle specification. I believe some listings or columns are typical and historical for certain manufacturing. It is a big business for sure and now regions of the global interest are more educational for us all. Sounds like your enjoying the new machine. A big congratulations on that ! Floyd
  3. I like that article and did go there first. In looking around for a more extended cheat sheet I seen this thread chart and it seems to have several separated columns, and interesting they are but also confusing a bit. Good day Floyd http://www.amefird.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/5-Thread-Size-Comparison-Chart-2-4-10.pdf
  4. That voltage is what mine are also. The numbers i referred to are factory installed and extras sent packaged in my motor purchases. I think the big box store will have some. Good luck Floyd
  5. Thats a nice gift! im thinking thats roughly 500$ US and thats a respectable asking price. As always its more important in the question with the local need and or popularity with a given product. So the brand to me is premium, with that clear. First is what benefits does the unit have, that is newer or are key to my actual use. With that, I could mean and do a newer type motor ( servo ). If particularly the work will be intricate leather work then a reducing speed; pulley system is a requirement. These if split can be 200$ US each. A thirty year veteran, sewing fabricator, will change out the old clutch motors to servo eventually and only say one thing, why didnt I do this earlier. Either of these items mentioned need a discussion in their own right For a seriously better discussion, some photos would benefit your questions to and from others, that are all helpful and glad to talk machines. Good day Floyd
  6. If there is no other accessory receptacles on the motor, like for lites or what have ya. Then I believe as other comparable servo motors I have the fuse would be a ; f10al250v fuse. About 5x20mm dimension Additional receptacles on mine are using a smaller fuse to protect that, they are a 3.15A 250V 5x20mm hope you can locate some this weekend. Floyd
  7. Must be [ Tkt 15 ] size as in chart listing, or saying another way of 207 and possibly [ Tkt 40 ] size or the same as in 69 great chart there Floyd
  8. Thats a really nice job you did there. No doubt its just Cool ! I have no worries its plenty strong, in that I too am curious. So what kind of plastic does one have as their typical choices in some projects as this. Again great job, thanks Floyd
  9. With either of these choices, do you typically use the 190 system needles. Thanks and have a good day Floyd
  10. Its Sunday and time to be away from work. In some searching pretty easily I found this below. http://www.techsew.com/techsew-3650hd-heavy-leather-industrial-sewing-machine.html google works on sunday have a good day there Floyd
  11. I think you could assume the standard sew table measurements of 20 x 48 roughly. I also believe you could option another stand typical of the 4500. Over here I'm kinda partial with tables being the same height as most other areas in the shop. So this may or may not be a big deal in your present shop. Good day Floyd
  12. I believe if you wanted to fabricate a very square and supportive bracket. You could use one of the many many small gas cylinders made for lifting and etc. The ticket would be finding one at a price your happy with, they are sure out their, good luck with it. Good day Floyd
  13. Sark9: That is an extremely nice reducer you have machined and setup. Also just saying a very professional write up and especially with regards to the standard bolt hole mountings. This plate you made for an adaptable mounting of the motor or any bolt pattern of the same is great work, I have found this to be a use in my own tables. In my plywood adapter, needed only for a reducer install I needed to initially get below some 2” angle support bracing I made for my tables long ago. The adapter I found to be a benefit in both directions. Thanks for sharing your build. Good day Floyd
  14. I think you may be experiencing the servo two stitch. Just when your trying to tap the pedal for a 1 stitch. Welcome to our world By chance do you recall the pulley diameter on the servo. In any case many members have them and will chime in. Good day Floyd
  15. I bet the servo looks similar to this one below. If it does theres no need looking for a clutch, you just have one gear Floyd https://www.leathermachineco.com/product/brushless-digital-d-c-servo-motor/
  16. It is suprising the size of these anymore. I have seen inside several and most are this very same size, though shrouded in various housing styles. Many have a circuit board and or three. Good day Floyd
  17. If yours has the chain connecting the pedal, you can temporarily remove it at the motor linkage. This may help in seperating the areas of concern. Good day Floyd
  18. Trying to grasp what you might need braking for and to understand better your question. In that servos, in their basic operation can expend a lot of watts to maintain a stop or in its run scenario under a load. They continously try to meet a target in a closed loop, or just continous. I really wished I could write code in some advanced way. Especialy with the motors i have now. All that has to include some equipment to analyze the outcome. So if these motors are the voltage you can use and a wattage of equal or higher its sure possibile to be a nice option motor. But without a bit more information I cannot agree its a needed change. Good day Floyd
  19. There are a few post from the past on the forum here that I read early today on the Seiko. I personally consider the brand a premium machine manufacturer. In searching its easily done and many times more productive using google. Although using this site as a lead in, IE site:leatherworker.net : seiko ch8 good day Floyd
  20. No there not all the same, and its truthfully surprising how these have been made different. In some ways a needle may be ground in machining to have a difference in its point, thread eyelet, the scarf area and upwards. Possibly marketing and manufacturing to peform better for a specfic task and in a machine of some brand or other. I think we see some of this in different point angles and for sure taller thread eyelets or holes. Good day Floyd
  21. A familar discussion to bring up is thread size, choice and if your bags need or if you want a bigger looking thread. The leather thickness you mention sounds like a required choice for that machine capability. A lot of the thick stuff in that dimension if on just strap attachments it may be possible to use a smaller machine. Though with a smaller heavy upholstery machine a thread of 138 or under will be the normal. Good day Floyd
  22. I picked up another thread post, as theres a place for another on top. I found it handy and can stack 4 bobbins on it for the ready, this is why its there now. With one already loaded and 4 prewound, I will have plenty. Good day Floyd
  23. Yes. The general diameter is 1.08” and the width or thickness is about .440” Good day Floyd
  24. Welcome to forum! With the motor belt off and presser feet placed in up position. I can better turn the hand wheel and possibly feel any issues. If one can tilt the machine back on a stand and get a better view of the hook, its possible to see thread in betwen the hook and bobbin basket. I will take a look at these places mentioned prior to removing the plate covering the feed dog for more visual interest. Good day Floyd
  25. I would pass on the positioner. At least on majority brands or types people get. The position part is a great advantage in many cases, but! In its function it can and does many times make two stitches. The class 4 and cb4500 have bigger handwheel pulley so provide an even slower ratio than the upholstery class sizes with reducers of either style. Have a good day Floyd
