  1. Them are some nice tools, and a great find. Floyd
  2. Well the knifes are interesting! after I seen one video. It showed the person pulling the knife and I had considered pushing it so whatever works for ya The guy was explaining a bit of reason the bevel to be toward the inside while cutting for a better or straight line, and he was using the left hand so pull left push right. In the video I seen a straight blade was described, so I am curious if they use an angle sometimes and the methods. I can use a first and am in purchase mode for a knife of this basic style where ever its from, a small paring utility is handy. Thanks for the lead Floyd
  3. You can put me in also, learned a great deal with the videos. An interesting point of view for many that enjoy the working adjustments. Thanks you all Floyd
  4. Would that generally be a right hand knife, that's my hold on it. I will take a look at some on the tube Thanks Floyd

Ok maybe that wasn't the best way to ask the question, live and learn. I'm thinking now a 15"deep by 24'' inch width is what I'm going to look into getting for a new bench build. welcome any ideas Floyd
  6. Uwe, I was ordering last year some small parts and so picked up a small sheet of wool I believe, but whatever it fits the Juki top arm and in the bottom of that area being the oem item for lube, I use it for cutting smaller pieces for other replacement use on them machines. They also have the wick running all over the 1508, 41 etc. so probably someone here has rolls of the wick if talking to them. Good day there Floyd
  7. So true Thor, Great tip I have found in the last year the search from google images list photos, yet to view them it is a pinterest pic and so gets a closing black screen almost covering totally. So just signed up this week, I'm so late! but wow its worth it. Good Friday everyone Floyd

Good day there! Asking what size leather jobs you normally stamp and what you feel is a best size length & width granite for that project. I thought if I ask in this way first it would be a better? gauge in building a shop bench. I have seen many photos you all have posted and know most any project you could handle if ask. So its just a start here for me putting a few best ideas that I can workup together for a work area. Floyd
  9. Them Beary mauls look pretty dang nice, I'm late to this party though as a couple Barry K came in the mail recently. But always the future and a 40 or bigger 48 might be used for some 1/2 eyelets. Thanks for the tip, sure will keep them in mind next Floyd
  10. I do see many of the new clones now having the step adjustment knob on top like the cream of the crop models. Particularly wished I had that on any, as its one of them items if ya don't have, it sure would be nice. yep! So there are several model of them new clones available and in that take a look around for good support, if that's the size your needing most likely 138 and lighter thread as its max. Its possible the original Juki is now made other than Japan fwiw Keep us posted on any direction Floyd
  11. Crazy question here, what thread size is the hook having an issue with and has something changed or just thread, this is my reason I'm with the question. I am just thinking other than cleaning up some casting as dikman mentioned is this hook difference allowing a larger cord or thread possibly. curious here Floyd
  12. I'm glad you all brought this up, as a new interested carver I did not check past the old site information. Now I will look a bit closer his direction in the future. Thank you Floyd
  13. Windows wha? great views! hey that's a great shop setup. thanks for sharing the pic nice work there to Floyd
  14. Its really a benefit to listen as other seriously experienced members here share their tips. Hi, I'm new also and going to be trying my hand at carving, welcome any tips you find along the way. I ask a few of the same questions recently and have confirmed: 1. If it will fit securely, a great blade will make an award winning cut much smoother and quicker, also maybe use in many swivels. 2. If you have regularly used a size anything as the "barrel" and like it try that first, my case ( I used a snap-on 3/8 extension knurled for 34 years day in day out and its 1/2" ) my plain ole reason to start there. 3. I have a few separate purchases to start the appreciation sharing with the tool builders like a swivel knife, a maul and a few stamps. Just looking ahead to the fun Good day Floyd
  15. Well keep us posted how you like it, I didn't see anything at Consew site but could be hidden further. Good day Floyd
  16. I agree the reducer is going to have plenty power and the servo itself will be able to stitch pretty slow when and if you want. The ones I have had all came with 90mm or others I had a choice for smaller, see how your belt setup works as is, first. Save your money for the moment, And Welcome to the show! Good day there Floyd
  17. Sounds as if this is a standard, hmm. So what is the option with other types of dye methods and if any avail, I wonder! Thanks for the heads up you all, and sorry Bev I do hope the site here can come up with something. Floyd
  18. Hey thanks for the photos, Its appreciated for sure. I see one dog with looks to be a std. hole and quite possibly large enough. (considered plain ole progress) Uwe on that thread, anybody say you shoulda been a ball player too, Good eye!! good day everyone Floyd
  19. I am thinking its as the others in the new design style of a walker. It might have been said before but I'm asking, was the 900 bull the last model before this model, and wasn't it a jump foot as some called it. curious! and appreciate any answer Floyd
  20. Thanks Tor, A great effort for sure! some of these links we just cannot link. Its possible they are directed to so many phone interchanges looking for a penny or whatever. Just a minute ago I used Eds main link leaving everything after .com and it showed a couple photos of the new machine but no accessory pics. I do appreciate they great job some of the dealers here put forth in the base products, as pre check setup and tuning and then afterwards the "normal" in my book tech discussion. Clearly getting these parts photos can be the newest for dealership strategy best left to us, happy trails. Going to keep looking around at the choices here and will post up when a good photo or part illustration is found. good day there Floyd edit: Rob, sounds great any pics are good, thanks!
  21. Eric thanks for the heads up, afterwards I made contact with them and glad its working out. I think from others around here and other sites this is a great choice. Tim that's to much fun to choose from! thanks for posting the pic. I can imagine the newer yoke is comfortable are there any control differences from your perspective. + - Oltoot, thanks I have been looking around at the makers on blades and some conversations here with them and plan to pick up another spare blade. Tom thank you, I been messing with the barrel diameter all weekend, or past week really, kinda like a blind date here so I welcome my choice respectfully. All I can say is next time I will know if its a dance I'm headed to or away from : ) I received a reply note from TL Henley this past weekend and ordered a standard yoke today, I'm going to run a 1/2" barrel at 2" with lite/medium knurl and cuttin with a straight 3/8" thin, so will catch up with you all in about 5 weeks. I sure will be considering the new style yoke in the future. But as a first knife I will hold back steady, and say I'm just glad for the great conversation about the many knife makers supporting the trade and the wealth of sharing about the tools used here. As of now the new style yoke has been out of stock and possibly later in spring or later. Now to mosey around for a stamp or 2 and some video study. Thanks everyone Floyd
  22. Soccerdad, post up any information you get there, as I do appreciate it. I believe theres a Tandy store in another town close by also I believe, I haven't had the chance yet to get there but soon. Have a good day Floyd
  23. Thanks Tor ! some good photos there to reference and would benefit future owners of the Juki clones also. At this time the links aren't working here for myself but I get the "picture" easy enough, so a compare picture of Juki standard and maybe the latest clones parts would be cool. These latest part accessories might just be custom and I suppose Juki never made, from a future clone owners perspective anyway. This is my reason of interest this morning doing some coffee, and just another benefit for the great conversation here. Thanks Floyd
