  1. Howdy all I have a question the wife wants me to ask. I hope it's not to silly? She has a saddle shes been using for about ten yrs. Her ? is if over that time frame she hasn't been sitting square in the saddle is possible to have warped the tree due to having more weight on one side. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Mike

  4. Thanks Rob This will probably gross some out. But it's darkened with redman (golden blend) chewing tobacco. I think ya can also use coffee or tea to achieve the same color. But it may not taste as good while you chew it. Mike

  10. Rawhider I've only used rawhide from Tejas and I've been real happy. I'd be real happy to know how Zack Whites compares. As I'm always looking to save a buck. Mike
  11. Rawhide Hereford Bi-Products has been changed to Tejas Industries. Bill Confer is the fella ya need to talk too. They sell rawhide by the foot precut or will sell sides or circles. They have cow, calf,or slunk(unborn calf) The ph# is (806)363-7232 I hope this helps. Mike

  13. Howdy All I joined this forum to learn from others and share what little knowledge I have if it's needed. I'm not a real big computer or internet type of guy so I really don't know about search engines or all the other stuff. All I know is I like LW the way it is. But it seems the bigger we get the more people come along and want to change it's intended purpose which is to share knowledge and friendship. This is a great site with great people so why change the dynamics (big word) of it. If a guy can sell something every now and again from people seeing stuff on the site then great. But I would rather find another way of selling my stuff than losing the original concept of LW that makes it so great. Just my .02 cents. Mike
  14. Doug Welcome to a great site with great people. I'm always glad to see new braiders join. If ya have any ?'s fire away and well try our best to answer them. And as always pictures are encouraged. Mike

  21. Art Isn't nutria like a big swamp rat that was imported here from who knows where. I had a buddy that used to trap them in Lousiana. I think I'll stick to buffalo, beef , and chicken. And if anybody uses a turkey fryer be sure and use it ouside(common sense you would think) But I've actcually been on a couple of fires where they were being used in garages. One guy actually burned his garage down kind of ruined his Thanksgiving day. Happy eating Mike
  22. 8thsinner I wish had some ideas but I don't. I just want to wish ya the best of luck as it looks like you have a ton of work ahead of ya. When ya get done I would love to see some pictures of what you have come up with. Best of luck! Mike
  23. entiendo Thats great!!!!!!!!! I'am real happy for ya. Mike
  24. entiendo I think I mistakenly called that a two turn knot. I think it is a three turn knot. In either case it really doesn't matter. Once you understand how to make the knot longer ya could take as many turns as ya want. I think it's nice to know how many turns ya take so if your matching knots on a piece of work they are the same length. You shouldn't have to make a knot longer to add bights. If your doing a two turn knot you should be able to use 4,6,8, or more bights. I hope this helps. Keep asking and we'll get it figured out or get real confused. Mike
  25. crow That turned out real nice. I really like how you have the solid black on the bottom half. And then the interweaves contrasting colors look great together. Great job!! Mike
