Hi I'm looking to buy a clicker in the 18-27 ton range. Looking for a clean machine, closer to new England the better! Looking for something that's up and running, and if it was converted to single phase that would be better! Thanks! -Andrew

Comparable Motor To Sewpro 500Gr
awharness replied to MuddyClearWaters's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Sergey who is "Sewpro" has a different motor now, he can't get the original ones (the last time I knew) I've got three of the 500gr set up in my shop, and then I have two of the nick-o motors with speed reducers. My juki 441, and my Sewpro 441 both have the gear reduces motor with no speed reducer and work fantastic! -
Weaver Leather Consignment Auction
awharness replied to LeatherWerks's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
I usually go, too busy last year, and way too busy this year! Leather moves fast and machines can get up there, or go for nothing! Amish tend to hold prices higher on the more desierable stuff, black harness leather, Adler 205's and bench equipment. Martina's does a first rate job on the running of the auction. They will charge you tax if you dont give them your Ein, or resale lic # -

441 Stitch Length Lever Jumping/falling Out Of Reverse
awharness replied to awharness's topic in Sewing Leather
That solved the problem! Thanks!, I tighted it too tight at first and could barely move the lever, easy fix, thanks again -
When I have my 441 in reverse the lever falls down, and it will "hop" with each stitch. How do I tighten it up? I haven't even really tried to resolve this issue yet! -Andrew

Would you be willing to get it ready for freight? I could arrange freight

Hey Crimson I have a barry king french edger, used it a little, then i couldnt get it sharp... I Buff it now, and its better than new! same thing with the groved edgers... thats all I use is Barry King edgers, but the french ones i have several different makers. I hit them on the buffing wheel every so often and it keeps me where i need to be! sharp enough so when i slip and stab myself it hurts less!

Ultimate Durable English Bridle Leather Finish
awharness replied to radiodinner's topic in How Do I Do That?
If you're using English bridle it should have enough spew, to buff to a warm luster. If you're using domestic bridle, depending on the tannage, it could be greasy(triple C) or fairly dry like a w/c or HO. I tend to use the greasy leathers and just buff them up when I burnish my edges.- 4 replies

I had one, it's totally different. It's "off or on" no feathering the motor, well there is no motor! And it's a needle feed jump foot. Mine didn't lay as tight, or consistent of a stitch. Don't get me wrong, cool machine, great idea and all. I just feel like the walking foot machines are a better alternative.

Why the aerostitch? I would imagine the cb3200 is more of a machine

Don't forget the infamous air motor!!!

You need forms, and specialized stuffers. Some are "long straw" and there is a process in itself to grow, harvest and dry the straw to make it work. Check out shop talk, maybe Dan can hook you up with someone

Ken is a great guy! Im close enough to be able to swing in and pick things up. He's the guy for english tanned leathers, bridle, billet and leather for english saddle seats. He has it in stock and sources and brokers material all around the world. Its not cheap leather, but ken is really fair.

Thread Options For A Campbell-Bostitch Machine
awharness replied to rmr's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Hey Dan, what's the "bulldog" brand polyester you guys have listed on your website? Is that something that can be ran on a 441? How does it impart to your "normal" bonded poly? Thanks! -Andrew -
I was looking on the Groz-becket website and they have a d and DH point needle, I use or now, but I really like the look of the D or DH. Does anyone have experience with these points with the 441's? Does anyone sell the Groz-becket in 794 d-DH in size 25 or so? Thanks! -Andrew
