You can build a sturdy table using common lumber for the base and frame for the top and use up to a full sheet of 3/4" plywood or MDF for pretty cheap. You can find plans easily and there are plenty of videos online that show the construction. That's pretty much what I plan to do when I finish putting the rafters and ceiling in my workshop.

Do you control the darkness by the amount of oil used, the length of time in the sun or a combination of the two?
Thanks for responding.

Thanks for responding but I was wanting to just use an oil.
Thanks for the response.

When coloring with oil how do you get a dark oil stain without oversaturating the leather. Do you use multiple light coats or fewer heavy coats?
Thanks in advance
Chris
I don't know if this helps or not because of the international shipping and currency exchange but Proedgeburnishers.com has them. Go to the website and look under motor burnishers.

Before seeing Egyptian's post on here that he was carrying the Tiger thread I contacted Abbey England and was quoted a shipping charge of $35-$45 to ship to the U.S. for an order of 3 or 4 rolls of thread. That's not counting any tariffs added after the fact.

Look at the Seiwa chisels at Goods Japan. Nigel Armitage (Armitage Leather) has some videos on you tube where he evaluates numerous chisels and irons. Watch those and you may have a better idea of what to look for.

I've never made a guitar strap so this may have no merit. Could you sandwich the padding between the leather and the pigskin then just sew the outside layers together?
