  1. I will check them out. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it!
  2. Can anyone recommend a computer program that would be fairly easy to use and not expensive for drawing out patterns? I would like to find something that I can draw them out on the computer and then send them off for plastic template to be cut. I can't draw, so I thought a computer would help !! Any advice appreciated! Thanks Phill
  3. I just had two brass stamps made from a guy on ETSY. He did a great job and quick turnaround. He will make anything he can and fairly inexpensive. Highdesertcncdesigns. Check him out. Good guy.
  4. What is the difference between the red and green can of weldwood? I have used the green can. It seems that it starts to set up in the glue pat and then hardens. It seems like I am prying dried glue out of the pot every 4-5 weeks.
  5. I like Obenauf heavy duty LP. I was created by firefighter for fire proofing. I use it after dying leather and when I am done. It work great for me. Great for belts. Body heat helps it work in more. Should be able to buy it in a gallon. Last quite a while.
  6. I don't like Barge. Make fell bad. I have recently purchased Aquilim 315 from Lisa Sorrell. I like the stuff. No smell and it seems to be strong. I bought the orange brush and that seems to work good.
  7. I have a small work area like yours. Thanks for sharing. I like it. Efficent use of space. Nicely done!
  8. Jim created a good chart. It is very helpful. It is always best to measure the belt personally (if you can). It is pinned in the patterns forum there is a chart.
  9. I like the logo. Best of luck! I hope to try in the near future. Phill
  10. I have never seen those pricking irons or the company. I have purchased some very nice pricking irons/stitching chisels off of ebay. I have purchased a nice set that was highly polished between the teeth. They were "French" style at 4mm. I use them frequently. Phill
  11. EVAPO-RUST is the best!! Non toxic and does a great job. Better then vinegar. Then you can polish the metal if you like.
  12. Thanks for sharing. This is a great video. I have learned a few things from this video. I think Mr. Sam Andrew is a true craftsman after watching the videos. I would sure be awesome to work with him and learn his skills. It seems he has minimalist tools and does great work. That Landis machine is damm cool. I am sure they are expensive if you can find one.
  13. Is the champion similar to the landis 16? It looks similar in the stitching area.
  14. Beautiful work! Great video! I did see Nigel's burnisher in the video. Thanks for sharing. What type of tread were you using? Thanks, Phill
  15. Sounds interesting. Was it espensive?
  16. Thank you OLDNSLOW! I appreciate the info. I will get started on mine since it takes some time for the process. I have all kinds of rusty iron laying around. I have used vinegar for removing rust. Never thought of using it for a dye!! I was also thinking of making a barrel like Will Ghormley does on his holsters to get that authentic old look.
  17. after reading post on vinegaroon (how ever it is spelled). Any one have a step by step setup process and recipe? Thanks, Phill
  18. Try these guys. I was looking at them and their prices seemed reasonable. I have never used them. But they have a 2" buckle that I am interested in. www.wbcindustries.com also try etsy. I have found buckles there.
  19. Thank you for sending the sample pack. I received the sample pack Saturday. My envelope survived!! This thread looks good. It is thinner then Ritza 25 1mm. It is not as heavily waxed and not as thick. Seems to be good thread. I will give it a try and see how it looks. Thank you, Phill
  20. I use Hide House in Napa CA. Good people there!! I have not tried Maverick but plan on trying some of their leather.
