  4. I have used and had extremely great luck with Texas Custom Dies (previously Big Sky Dies). They are based out of Mansfield, Texas and Heather or Rebecca are great to work with. I have referred a few others and they have had a great experience. good luck
  5. Welcome back! I just moved and I feel your pain. I have my stuff still in boxes. I do not see that changing anytime soon. I am trying to plan my new shop area a bit better. Good luck to the both of you!!
  6. I have to agree with Spinner a lot. More and more art mediums are going on to leather nowadays. To include skulls. I think to understand "why" skulls you would have to understand what they mean or represent to the individual. Just ask anyone that carves them and they will tell you. Chances are that they use them because quite frankly they look 'cool.' Why does someone tattoo themselves with tribal art or flames or other art. Why do some pierce themselves with rings or studs in what I would consider an abnormal spot? Like Spinner suggests, it is just culture or generational trends. I guess when I am 80, I will not have to worry what my skull art will look like on leather instead of my body! Good luck.
  7. That is an interesting knife combo. It is probably a custom item. The blade looks like an xacto or scapel blade. Good luck!
  8. they look comfortable, but are you not worried about the nails coming up? I am just wondering why you didn't sew it up. How hard were they to make since it was your first pair?
  9. I just learned during the Texas show (I am sure that it has been out for quite some time) that Leather Wranglers sells a blade for that strap cutter you have and I will tell you something. That blade attachment is sharp and will cut that 14oz like butter. Take a look at their website. They are known for their round knifes and primarily their SK-3 Swivel Knifes. Good luck!

  16. If you attach the snap before you glue the liner you should avoid any scratching possibility. You can also place a 1-2oz circle piece of leather glued over the snap stud to avoid the issue of your concern. The magnet, I have heard quite a bit of issues with interference. I typically use velcro or a line 20/24 snaps for my enclosures.
  17. $25 bucks?? It would depend on what he has......sorry to say this but it just depends on quite a few things. I know this doesn't help, but buyer beware! Good luck!
  18. It has been a while, but Hidecrafter's carried a 12 sheet pack (I think) for $9 bucks (give or take). I used to buy my sheets from them for quite some time. I am glad to hear that the Tandy sheets worked out......it is about time!
