That is a super impressive accomplishment! If I had a use at all for it, I would definitely be wanting one.

BOWIE KNIFE BUILD AND SHEATH
x101airborne replied to Dave Richardson's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I like raw (imperfect) additions to some items. Your sheath for example, I would leave alone. Part of the allure for me anyways is having something I made and I like the home made looking items. I really don't want my stuff to look like I went to Dooney and Burke or whatever and just bought them. I think you did well. BTW... if that is a knife you forged, you are certainly better with fire and hammer than I am! Good job all around! -
My first western rig

I am stumped how you even did that! If that is your first rig, you have missed your calling! -

I think I can vision it, but could we see it on a person or mannequin? I am interested in how it fits under the arm. Excellent work by the way!! -

More sheaths

Did you use a welt? I made a Bowie in my forge and finally got a proper handle on it and it is ready for a sheath. -
Panama straw
x101airborne replied to Boriqua's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
If you are doing the straw yourself anyway, you could do different colors and make either a camo pattern or a rattlesnake pattern, or a copperhead pattern, or on and on.... What would you charge someone for a holster like that? Interested. -

From a military standpoint, Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Love where you have started. Don't worry about getting fancy. That will come. Love the baskets by the way! -
From what I have seen, and mind you... I have never had one in my hands, the collar ring goes in the brass slit with the pull pin. The pull pin only holds the ring in place. When the hounds strike, the handler can either hold the hounds or pull the center cord to release the hounds. This is only my understanding but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express this weekend. LOL!

I know a bunch of 'coon hunters here in the states that would love those!
