Knife Sheath for Esee 6
battlemunky replied to Firewalker's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I'm an ESEE fan myself. I have an Izula, Laser Strike, have had a 4 and a 5 as well. Hoping to get a Junglas one of these days. Throw some TKC scales on it and you have a winner. Great knives. You can shave with everyone of the ones I've had.- 23 replies

With all the awesome stitching running around this forum and seeing @bikermutt07 signature line I have seriously been considering stitching as I do inane crap on the couch. I have miles of thread and a ton of leather. Sometimes just doing projects isn't enough. I've seen improvement in my stitching just from doing projects but I think I am going to start doing it just for the sake of doing it. Time to make the gravy. Your improvement over time is great @KingsCountyLeather. You should be proud of your progression.

Knife Sheath for Esee 6
battlemunky replied to Firewalker's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
That is a really nice sheath. I like the dark starburst dye job a lot and your mini-altoids tinder kit pouch is perfect. Looks great. Is it able to be carried any way other than scout?- 23 replies

Quite awesome @motocouture!

Thanks @Sanch. The saddle pulled out easily enough but it's fighting going back in and I can't keep the split ring compressed because the opening of the barrel is bigger than the split ring and is recessed.
-
Ok, so, I'm trying to play this game and have the saddle piece removed and wrapped. Mine has a split ring on the shaft that I can't get it back into the large barrel. Anyone know how to get it back in? I can get pics up if needed. I'm working on the stacked piece now so I have a little time to figure out how to reassemble but I can't find it anywhere. This also led me to search on swivel knife maintenance which there isn't a whole lot of aside from sharpening either. Does anyone regularly take their swivel knives apart and lube 'em, etc.?

Here is my base so I'm a pocket down from you and one flap less so in this configuration it ends up being about 18-24 oz. My son carries his daily and loves it. The thickest I've made would've been around 30 oz with the 8-9 oz exterior and I haven't heard how it carries yet. I think it comes out to a little over .25" thick and .333" ish file:///home/chronos/u-e1c0e014965f36745c27cd159df297c952f469c3/Downloads/4-Slot%20Bifold%20Directions.pdf

Tooled flask
battlemunky replied to barbedwireboutique's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Looks really good from here. I don't see any flaws jumping out at me. -
Looks great though. I use 3-4 oz on my wallets occasionally using 8 oz for the exterior if I'm wanting to overbuild it.

No idea what I'm doing, but happy to be here!
battlemunky replied to JiffyJones's topic in Member Gallery
I's recommend doing a search on here for Gray Halliday and looking at his stuff. It runs from wall art to guitar straps. Also, a general search on carving may be good too. With your painting skills and eye for coloring you could do some magic on some carved leather. -

Yeah, the leather part of making the mask can be a bit tricky and it seems like you have that all sorted but your painting skills are off the chart. That is some really nice work. I can make stuff that would be pretty hard to destroy, you can make beautiful stuff that is pretty hard to destroy. You can be taught the mechanics of making stuff from leather but you can't be taught the artsy side of it, that is talent, and you have my envy. I dig those masks for sure. -
Shave Kits
battlemunky replied to kncorey's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Those are beautiful work! I think your stitching is wonderful and the color choices you have picked work well together. I be pleased with any of those. I like that piping on the seams; always wondered how that was done. -
