  1. Ok, here is my shop/s. Drying rack, airbrushing station, dying station, sanding station. All out in the shop. My box jig and bench with all my tools, thread, stamps, leather, stamping granite, cutting board. Pile o'fleece. And I neglected to take a picture of the couch where I sit and make gravy. I've sewn 4 out of 6 days and I haven't been working on anything but my sewing. I don't know if my sewing is improving but I am certainly learning a lot about technique and awl holding, etc.
  2. I need to get pics up I suppose. I run a split operation. I have my tooling, cutting, non-smelly stuff inside the spare bedroom (which I share with my wife and her sewing operation) and the dye/glue, smelly/dusty stuff out in the shed. I think it's super cool to see everyone's setup. So many ideas.
  3. I just made a jig and did a quick joint. Its far easier. I need to trim about a foot off my jig though.
  4. I have the miter jig but I need the stitching jig. I've tried box stitching without the stitching jig and it looks like I tried to box stitch without a stitching jig Yours looks great!
  5. That looks really cool @Rossr. I love a black sheath with white stitching. I totally see the green in the deerhide now. Regarding the arrowheads, those are pretty cool too, I think I can see the basketweave direction allowing the arrowheads to come to be.
  6. Great looking box stitching @Fire88! I love the diver too. When you get the pillows figured out and installed, you gotta show us! @kiwican, I'm terribly sorry for your loss sir.
  7. @Stetson912 I was more concerned with leather liking to hold environmental moisture, like humidity and such. I knew that chrome tanned isn't friendly but depending on where the roll is kept, like in a bathroom for instance, and that leather sucked up the humidity after showers, I'd be afraid I'd see some rusting. My dad made a felt straight roll and it had a similar result. I have a really old Wade and Butcher that is a couple hundred bucks that it would be a punch to the gut to lose to rust.
  8. I was thinking of making a straight razor roll but was worried about rust. Have you noticed any so far?
  9. Yeah, that is pretty meticulous. How does it feel? A lot of that Gucci/YSL high end leather just feels fake to me, almost like plastic. I dunno if people like that, but I'm not a fan of that cold plastic feeling leather.
  10. Agree with everything said so far. Great start, 90 degrees looks better IMO as well, stamp with what you stamp with, and I'll second lining in leather as opposed to fabric on something like that.
  11. Yeah, I certainly want to be like Ingle Gun Leather when I grow up.
  12. Good job sir! That is a great piece too knowing the story of the hens and the peacocks.
  13. Me too. He even says out "two thousand six hundred and forty three" all slow like he does. Like Shawshank style.
