  1. The 291 was Durkopp's answer to Adler 767. When Durkopp bought Adler about 20 years ago, the decision was made to keep the 767 over the 291. Both are great machines. The problem was the threading of the 291 was Micky Mouse compared to the 767. It is a weird way to thread it. DA used some of the features off the 291 in its design of the 867. Specifically the trimming system for thread cutting. The 291 will sew heavier than the 255 but bobbin is a little smaller. glenn
  2. please post pics of your Adler on the stand. That will help, Uwe, what is the cylinder arm machine on the floor in the back in your photo? glenn
  3. Buy the Consew. Better machine. Never been impressed with Sailrite machines. I think they are overpriced. I have been sewing and working on machines for over 40 years. Consew the better machine. Better built. glenn
  4. Scorpio Leatherworks, See if you can get a one piece servo motor in Europe with a 45mm-50mm pulley on it first. Let me know and we can go from there. glenn
  5. I can help you. Is it on a treadle stand? Do not need any oil or grease in the oil boat on top if you are using nylon or polyester thread since most come lubricated. You are looking for a one piece servo motor. Not sure what is available in Europe. If in US, I can tell you. You might check with Strima in Poland to see what they carry. You will need to have the motor come with a 45-50mm pulley on it. No bigger. glenn
  6. You can gear the servo down. Make sure it has a 45-50mm pulley on the motor. There is a way to make the balance wheel on the treadle stand into a speed reducer. I can walk you thru it. The lobes on your bellcrank are worn. That is why the stitches are so small glenn
  7. You can order a synthetic roller on line from amazon to replace the stone feed roller. It does not grab as tight as the stone one and I found it works better. Not expensive. try one. I also replaced the foot with that roller foot. It works better on thin leather. These machines are touchy so once it is set, leave it. glenn
  8. That is the set up I prefer. glenn That is the set up I prefer. glenn
  9. Most 441 machines are mounted on an off the arm stand be a H legs or Weaver stand. I prefer that set up up. You want to hang anything off the arm to sew, you will find problems in your current set up. glenn
  10. Only if the thumb screws to mount the binder are hanging down below the slide plate. Glenn
  11. Made that way so feed dog does not lose contact with the binding. glenn
  12. The bobbin case. Machine has no feed. needle goes up and down. makes stitch. you move the item by hand to darn up a rip or hole. glenn
  13. Would not be hard to build this. You need a round shaft, collar, spring, washer, cotter pin. Or call Collier Equipment or Bob Kovar at Toledo sewing and see if they can get the parts. part # rod #223684 collar #227227 screw #200113 spring #206628 cotter pin #202302 glenn
  14. Machines without the P have skiff feed: Feed dog moves back and forth but never drops. Used on the 335-17 binding machine for symmetric feed. 4 motion drop feed is this: Feed dog comes up to meet the needle (1)and inner presser foot. (2)then move to the back, (3)drops down and then (4)comes forward before moving up again. Also called elliptic feed. glenn
  15. You could sew leather with it. glenn
  16. call Manufacturers Supply in St. Louis. They sell clickers. See what they say. glenn
  17. Same manual will work. The 372 has smaller fittings on it like feed dog, feet. It uses smaller sized 134-35 needles. glenn
