  1. LOL I noticed how naïve I was to this first about five years ago, i took a trip down to Denver, pulled into a shopping mall parking lot. When I got out of my car and was walking through the lot i happened to notice none of the vehicles had anything in them you could see. My car had cds, glasses, and any number of things strewn all about on the dash and in plain sight lol. Folks here might stop and roll your windows up if it was raining that's about the size of it but about once a year we get a kid or two that steals for about a week or someone passing through until they get caught. But there is no way to hide here what you do, there are about 8000 people and the next town is 100 miles away. Everyone knows everyone for the most part.
  2. oh yea easy peasy!!! This type of holster is one of the easiest patterns there is and it is highly modifiable. As you can see i use a different way to attach to the belt than most western types, it makes for a higher tighter type ride on the hip and with a cant.
  3. they say the, angled blades, are for fine detail but i use mine for every thing. Never used a ceramic so dont know anything about sharpening them. The steel angles are no harder than regular straight blades IMo to sharpen or strop.
  4. the wrangler 22 will be smaller frame than a regular large caliber saa type firearm i recently remodeled an existing saa holster for one of the older 22 rugers and it fit well trimming off about 3/8" from the sewn edge of the holster plus an inch off the length. if you can find a pattern for the older 22 lr single action revolvers they should fit just fine. i make one like this one on top, my own pattern.
  5. That's just crazy, man we live in such different worlds in the same country. I haven't locked my car ever, never had one stolen. in fact stolen cars are almost unheard of here i noticed the other day a brand new Chevy truck setting in the grocery store parking lot running with the windows open lol lady just hopped out and went in the store with no thought what so ever and its not uncommon for folks to do that here.
  6. yes it is I'm down to one tank of gas a month and checking all the marked down foods daily just to get by. So there no waste here if we can help it, if we don't eat it our dogs do lol. My roast made three full meals plus we still have the bone for boiling, I'm thinking beef and homemade noodles.
  7. wonderful job and info on your project, i think it turned out great and you gave enough info for anyone to make one as well. sewing right angles is not fun IMO.

  9. to many tools ? what are ya crazy. lol
  10. . Here is some info for you to make your decision. without pics we really don't know what your leather needs if your couch has lost its oils through time then anything you put on it to fix that will darken it That's what conditioners do!. https://www.libertyleathergoods.com/saddle-soap/
  11. Good for you, stay in your safe space nothing wrong with that either.
  12. lol la sombra =the shadow, just a little joke.
  13. your keeping it small/short to one step at a time is an awesome idea. I have watched a video of over two hours before but not on leather work lol, rebuilding a 4l60 e tranny, the guy was good!!!! both in his video work , precise and to the point, and his tranny work you could tell he knew his shit and could do it blindfolded.
  14. You did some beautiful work and rethinking of design ideas!!! It wouldn't be hard to change those few pieces to about any critter, a nice puppy or kitty, turtle maybe. lengthen it for a back pack, the sky is the limit! Designing your own patterns is hard. I'm the last to make cookie cutter projects and would rather take a beating than punch out multiple copies of someone else's patterns. it just isn't inspiring IMO in fact I've never done it lol. That being said for those who don't have the knowledge or skill set of making patterns, redesigning a good workable pattern is the logical step it has many more personal benefits it teaches you first off how to make patterns , think outside the box and use your own grey matter to solve problems, what is even more exciting is when you have learned it you don't have to google it or buy it from someone else. Above all there is nothing wrong with pushing your skill level that's what life is about.
  15. very nice!!!! that wasn't a shady deal was it?
  16. buy a good artists quality of white acrylic paint. The better the quality the more pigment making less layers on your work to screw up.
  17. Your gonna make me buy a brisket before this is over lol. They are about 50 bucks here for a whole one. Last night was roast beef I had a ten pound bone in roast in the freezer from the tee bone section, Trimmed out the meat and tied it up, slow roasted, poked some holes in it and stuck in some garlic cloves salt and pepper. dang it was fork tender. We will be having roast beef sandwiches tonight, home made bread and the works lol. the tee bones will be frozen for later stew.
  18. great looking holster I love that color especially! i kind of like the 1911 pattern too.
  19. great repurposing idea indeed well worth the effort too, anything that makes life easier imo.
  20. heck yea go for it. I buy d2 steel rod from grainger for my small tools. i like it because you can use a mapp gas torch to harden it with no need firing up the big forge, and while your at it you can make quite a few other leather tools from it as well.
  21. oh yea I floured and fried a couple of chickens last night over the open fire. man i love cast iron. The wife made potato salad to go with it used those pickled jalapenos in it a darn it was good with that little bit of spice. I wish we had a little moisture its dryer than a popcorn fart here lol and hot.
