I never even considered making a belt like that!! I've done the bracelets but never thought to just make it longer!! I actually have that book I guess I'm gonna have to get to studying! Thanks for the reminder

My daughter asked me to make her a new belt for Christmas, but wants one of the braided kinds that dosent have holes for the buckle prong to go through. Would anyone have an idea HOW to make a braided belt? I've done some lacing as well as your standard 3 strand flat and 4 strand round braids but no clue how to make a belt like that. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciate. Thanks!

I like it, but it looks like it rides way high

Thank you. Yep, should have done that....didn't even think about that tbh but you're 100 % right. It's the simple things like that that I overlook...damn. anyway the thinner thread helped.
-
Lol no it was not!! I've kind of changed the order of the way I stitched the one I finished today and will probably change it again if I'm being honest about it
-
Thanks. I wish I could take credit for the color, but unfortunately thats the way I got it. Sad thing is I don't remember where that was so I doubt if I'll be lucky enough to get any more of it.

Thanks for the comment, I agree with you there. That thread was too thick for sure. I am going to do the next one with some that is thinner.

Second attempt at making a case for some apple air pods, I'll spare you from having to see the first one. I'm hoping future ones come out better, just wanted to see what you guys might have to say. Thanks for looking!

I can't really say, I've always used my phone and it dosent look any different to me

How the hell did you even SEE that??? Nice work!!

I have serious doubts that she's going to misplace that. Nice bag!

Here I was trying to figure out how to shoot with my thumb through the hole haha Today I learned something!
-
Thanks for the replies. If I'm "understanding" things the hole in the sling isn't for stability when shooting, just for carrying the rifle?
-
I like it, but...why the thumb hole??

I've had the same thought!! One thing I was thinking about was gluing them together and then trying to "round" them and make leather beads if you will but haven't actually attempted it yet...

That is a LOT of hand stitching!! My hands hurt just thinking about it! I bought a sewing machine and thought it was going to be super easy to use...but I've never used one before and it's not as easy as I thought it was going to be honestly... I'm still forcing myself to try and use it but mainly still hand stitch, for me it's like a catch 22...sigh...

Perhaps I'm just dumb, but I didn't even know that there was options for entering shows where they gave out first prizes!! I always thought shows were for selling so color me "informed"!! Your tooling looks better than anything I've managed to do, so double or should I say triple congratulations on your belt and purse!! Nice job!!

Thanks Jaxx! I really wish I was able to help you out with a better answer than I pretty much just wing it as I go along. Probably not the answer you were looking for but that's pretty much how I've done everything I've posted here. I usually see pictures on the web myself, or get an idea in my head and even if I try making patterns it usually turns into what I've come to call "snip and stich"...

Trust me, I have way more "scrap projects" than I'm willing to admit to having. I'm not worried about "perfect" per se, I just don't want to put inferior projects out into the world lol. Wanna know a secret?? That is just some embossed leather that I picked up on the cheap and dyed it black so it looked fancy

Thank you so much!! I am absolutely terrible at wallets, lol, so needless to say I don't make them. That being said, telling someone I don't make wallets because I suck at it, when they ask for wallets doesn't bode well when trying to keep a roof over my head doing leather work....so I'm trying to make some that I'm not completely embarrassed by. Thank you again
