  1. One thing I do is cut outside the lines, then glue my pieces together and trim or sand down to size. I don't worry about getting an exact cut that way.
  2. after looking up the Ernie Hill rig I see my suggestion was way off LOL
  3. I make my stamps from 1and1/4" delrin rods and 1.5 inchs tall , gives me room to hold the stamp while I strike it with the mallet. Its a dead blow so no bounce.
  4. Thanks Pastor Bob , I still haven't trid one maybe I'll look for that one
  5. why not just use some heavy 9 to 10 oz veg tan wet mold it?. should be very stiff with good retention
  6. The absolute best thing I found was the rubber finger tips. These grip the needles and don't slip, makes hand sewing a cinch . I tell ya it beats having to pick up a pair of pliers each time you need it. I just put them on my thumb and index figure and sew away LOL https://www.officesupply.com/office-supplies/mailing-shipping/mailroom-equipment-supplies/rubber-finger-tips/swingline-rubber-finger-tips-medium-large-amber-dozen/p28431.html?ref=pla&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&adpos=&scid=scplp28431&sc_intid=28431&gclid=CjwKCAiApfeQBhAUEiwA7K_UH0djcpSi249W0uB07Sm0mzoDit5PbXH2hISVp103M3z3yHflkNqn9BoCrMUQAvD_BwE

  10. 9oz Veg tan should get pretty hard and stiff when wet moulding, try what he said , let us know how it works, nice lookin holster by the way
  11. I decided to just make it with flat pockets, thanx for all the replies
  12. thanks but they don't help with what I want to do
  13. I'm making a stool cover for a tripod I want to make a pocket for the legs to fit into. I want to cut the pockets a little bigger so the legs will slide in easily. I'm not sure how much bigger to make them so that when I sew them to the cover they look right. Would I make them bigger on all side? or just 2 sides and leave the top the same.

  16. Well your right no air brush. I'm not buying something I'm only gonna use a few times . I've done that all to often and have a house full of stuff I don't use, LOL. I do this purely for fun . I'm to old to want to do more then just keep busy . Make a sheath here and there, a holster for fun now and then. I see what you guys do and I want to try it making some of those things. 99% of the stuff I make is still here in a cardboard box LOL. I must have 50 knife sheaths a half dozen gun holsters and tons of key fobs and other stuff.
  17. I've never smoked a cigar but thinking of trying one any suggestions 10 to 15$
  18. Can there ever be Justice? The man is gone for ever. The family grieves. No amount of money can bring him back or make the family feel better.
  19. Well it turned out crappy LOL so I dyed the whole sheath brown to cover it up. If you want a pic of the brown sheath I can do that I'll try again sometime
