  4. Someone on here had a belt with a pattern on the inside, and said it was only for the customer, something special. I wanted to recreate that and realized I had his sig. Thanks for the compliments. Thanks. He absolutely did not want a brown floral pattern. Said he wanted black. I actually used Natural thread to get the contrast. He actually brought one of his dad's belts and said, "make it like this, but 3" shorter. I was able to use the existing gun belt as a pattern. I used @Dwight or @JLSleather method for bullet loops. The original belt used stitching between each loop. Thank you sir. Probably close to 12-16 hours in it.
  5. Thanks! will it hold weight? Not sure what a "ledger" is. You mean just flush with the bottom?
  6. Very clean work. Agree with skiving down edges or maybe not doubling the inside pockets to reduce the edge thickness.
  7. can you attach the picture. Lots of folks don't like clicking on links. Thanks.
  8. Very impressive. Was the embossed leather veg tan?
  9. Nothing like seeing a smile on grandkids faces. Well done. That should last him for a long time. Great job on the lettering. Those are so hard.
  10. Nice looking stitching and I love that type of closure. well done.
  11. Finished this up for a client. First big project on the Class 4. Used the new attachments from @Patrick1 that @Tim Schroeder recommended. 277 top thread, 207 bottom thread, 25 needle. Drum dyed Hermann Oak, except liner. it's for a Ruger .45 LC Single Action. Customer signed the invoice before he left. Scanned it the signature to use for laser engraving his name inside. Burned off the thread ends after pics.
  12. Thank you so much. I haven't done a stitch of two ends yet. So the bottom is not sewn to sides, just friction fit?
  13. can you point me in the right direction for a "How To"? I have several projects I am currently working on, but always like to have a "new" project lined up. I only have about 30 as of now. Can always use 1 more.
  14. Nice work @Frodo. Big gun and lots of leather.
  15. Wow! I need to try one of those. Very nice @Gezzer
  16. Beautifully done. I haven't had time to investigate the airbrush or invest in the equipment yet. I purchased the items for the vacuum system, but have yet to even unbox it. Hopefully in the next month, I can get to it.
  17. I use tokonole and slick it down. I don't have a glass slicker so I use a boning tool.
  18. wow. Lots of good stuff, @Mulesaw. Thanks for sharing the steps and pics. Really like the note, "DO NOT TOUCH". I guess even at sea, people touch stuff they shouldn't. LOL.
  19. Books are easy to find either on Amazon or Springfield Leather.
  20. Looking good. How did you secure the two ends of the keeper? holes look centered and spaced equally. Nice job. Something to consider on the dye...I cut mine 50/50 with isopropyl alcohol. It's not quite as dark with a single coat, gives me some options to go darker if desired.
  21. That's quite the machine there!
  22. All I know is there are some fine examples of both here. Artists all around. Love any excuse to see some of your work. Thanks for asking the question, @Frodo
  23. That's a great point.
