  1. $35-55 depending on complexity, personalization, etc.
  2. Not sure. They look like they would function the same, just a different form. It appears the arch punch would waller out the top of the hole more, especially with thicker leather. Seems to have more taper than the 245 punch.
  3. Looks like it will last another 40 years. Great keepsake to pass on to other generations when the time comes.
  4. I don't think it is a function of a specific machine, just a different design and pattern. Stitching looks the same throughout the image you shared.
  5. On which machine, @Doc Reaper? I don't have one on my Class 4.
  6. I also use the side cutter method for double capped rivets. Otherwise, I will drill out the head with a drill bit after center punching. Typically one side of the rivet is not exposed and if you remove the rivet from that side, even if you leave a few marks, it won't be seen.
  7. It all depends on what you are making. I have more than a dozen hole punches of various sizes. including the rotary punch tools. Can't say that I have used them all, but have used 4 or 5 of them on the buscadero gun belt rig I am currently working on. I don't think any of mine are Osborne punches. Some are from Tandy, others from Weaver, and I think one set was originally used to punch out rubber gaskets. They all work beautifully on leather...as long as they are sharp.
  8. Now I understand. Thanks for sharing the pics. Sorry you had so much trouble. Glad you were able to fix it, not toss it.
  9. email sent.
  10. okay. That makes sense. Thanks for letting me know.
  11. Thanks! Can you give an example of use if not to hold together items for stitching?
  12. Others will know for sure, but I would guess 277 thread with a 25 needle.
  13. Welcome to the forum from SW Missouri. Since you have been lurking, I am sure you have seen the number of posts about sewing machines. Make sure you post pics of your projects and/or your issues that arise with the machines. More than plenty will jump to your aid.
  14. that's pretty cool. Live long and prosper...oh, wait, that's a quote from Star Trek
  15. following. Would it work well for machine sewing and not having to use glue?
  16. Beautiful...no end to the use of leather.
  17. Very classy. Clean lines and stitching. Well done.
  18. Thanks! My late wife helped me pen that. That's a great idea. Love the unique bubble wrap. I bet it does add color. I have a couple "lucky" bills in my wallet. Following Dad's footsteps.
  19. Buck knives always put in a little slip of paper explaining a bit about their company and their beliefs. I have kind of adopted it and include this in mine.
  20. @Northmount can help you out. He is one of the moderators.
  21. subscribed.
  22. Ha ha . I knew an old guy, oh yeah, he was old...he helped us out on the farm when I was a kid. Anytime anything mechanical or electrical would give him fits, he would pull out his trusty hammer and give the thing a few taps. Generally, whatever wasn't working would begin working as it should. Glad it was an easy fix.
