  11. Yep. It is a auto mechanics instructor at a nearby school that has done some work on my vehicle. The first item I did for him was a repair job on a hard leather rifle case. Since he is now considered part of the family, I did the repair for free. He came back for more. Yes - that is a Sergey stamp. I find the method of making the stamp he uses allows for easy alignment of the stamps. To me, even his basketweave stamp seems to just fit better in the previous groove to really locate the stamp easily before striking. Thanks. Got another on the bench now. Handmade knife a guy is giving to his daughter for her birthday. Hope to have it finished tonight. Thanks. There are 2 other tools that are part of this set that I didn't get. They are half stamps, one for right, one for left. I think it looks good as is. Thanks, Bert. Thank you! Thanks!
  12. Approached to make a horizontal knife sheath to replace the kydex one. Client happy!
  13. nice work. Yeah that is an interesting blade for sure.
  14. That looks great. Really like the design. The only thing I would add would be to wrap some leather around the jaws to protect your work from indentations when clamping. Love the quick release lever and how you made a groove for it to ride in.
  15. Welcome from SW Missouri. I too just made the jump from handstitching everything to just some things now. The info here is invaluable for all things leather sewing. Good luck and send a pic of that stitching pony.
  16. My dad actually found an old one in the field near his house. The handle was rotted away of course. He put a nice walnut handle on it and peened brass rivets in it. Before my LW days, I actually had someone make me a sheath for it. Still have it to this day. Thanks for sharing, and nice way to protect it in the drawer.
  17. Great thinking out of the box. I love avenger style holsters, that's typically all I use. I like the thought of this hybrid, but if I were going to use a pancake holster, I think I might want more substance (leatherwise) around both belt slots. I don't know if I would be comfortable wearing a holster with just a single piece of loose leather supporting the gun on my belt. Maybe, instead of folding the leather over the gun like a traditional avenger, you used 2 pieces of leather to form the holster similar to a pancake, then skive down the portion that would be covered by the flap you have extending. Just to give it a little more material. Or have 2 flaps, 1 on each side that come together and culminate at the belt loop.
  18. Great copy of the original. I have yet to buck stitch anything. It definitely looks better than the original.
  19. Looking good. Make sure to post finished pics...

    Wading

I understand about feeling younger. God brought a young lady into my life recently. I think God has already affirmed she will be my next wife. It has been over a year since my wife passed. I think the timing is of God and he is allowing me to leave my mourning and grief behind and start a new chapter. Keeping you in my prayers. Communion is a special time. It serves to bring remembrance of the Lord's sacrifice on our behalf.
