  1. Ok thanks Frodo. Nice collection of fine looking tools there. Thanks for sharing them.
  2. 60 degrees I believe is the optimal angle.
  3. My 1" x 42" leather strop belt has about a 3/4" long tapered skive & then glued together. If you want a stronger glue joint. Buy some 1" fabric reinforcement tape & add a piece of it to the back of the belt at the glue joint.
  4. Thanks I appreciate the link. Exactly what I'm looking for. Them look great Frodo. Nice work on the tools. Love em. Thanks.
  5. Awesome work. That's a sexy piece. Great work.
  6. I have & use 3 poly round mauls, 12oz for beveling, 16oz for most basketweave & border stamps, then I got a 24oz for my makers stamp & large geometric stamps. Wish I could find a 12oz leather stacked handle poly maul. Preferably a taper head. Frodo is that handle in your ball peen, made out of deer antler? Thanks.
  7. Congrats toxo on your new machine. Looks awesome. I cant wait to get my machine. But it will be a couple more months b4 I order mine. Congrats on the new machinery.
  8. Nice work. Looks killer! You sure make some nice holster setups. Great work.
  9. Nice work. Looks great.
  10. Nice work. They look great. I see you used the Tandy Dillon money clip wallet pattern. Yeah I made 1 too, & you really got to massage the leather in spots to get them to stay closed. I was going to reverse engineer their pattern as well on my 2nd 1 i make. Great work.
  11. Looks great! Nice work. What thread did you use, lol I cant see it. Beautiful piece.
  12. Wouldn't any 1341 or 1341 clone bobbin work in that machine? Or are you trying to figure out the letter series of the 1341 bobbins.
  13. I forgot about them Preval cartridges for the fiebings dye. Does 1 of them last to spray a full 4oz bottle? Thanks.
  14. Thanks. I got a box of them nails in stainless steel. I never knew what they were for.
  15. Thanks I appreciate it. Is your scales on the cpm154 knife, what they call or refer to as tortoise shell? Thanks. Nice work on it all.
  16. Thanks. Do you use upholstery tacks/nails to fix your leather to the soles? Or are them decorative touches? Thanks again. I appreciate it.
  17. Beautiful work on the tooling & beautiful knives. You do awesome work. What blade steel are you working with? & what brand is your dragon scale stamp. Nice work. Love the pine cone scales also. Them dang things are expensive but, stunning. Thanks.
  18. They look great! Nice work. Do you make your own soles & insoles? Thanks.
  19. As promised. Here is my very 1st poor attempt at antiquing leather. It dont look too bad. I kinda dig the look actually. I got 1 more step of rubbing in some Skidmores leather balm. I think that will darken it up a touch more. This is full strength eco flo super sheen, over veg tan leather, then fiebings dark brown antique gel applied & allowed to sit 10 minutes then buffed clean. Then I re applied eco flo super sheen to the leather panel. Heres a couple pics.
  20. Thanks bladegrinder. I put the eco flo super sheen on full strength, then I used fiebings antique gel & let is set 10minutes then i buffed it off. It seemed to take well. Now I'm letting antique gel cure out & will coat it 1 more time with eco flo super sheen. We shall see how it turns out. Now dont laugh. I put the super sheen on full strength. I will keep everyone posted. Thanks.
  21. Thanks I'll do some test samples & see what happens.
  22. Guys & gals I'm wondering? Can Tandy Eco Flo Super Sheen be used as a antiquing resist? I'm wanting to use the Fiebings antique gel & curious if this is possible. I'm curious if is leave it full strength or dilute/thin it to 50/50. Thanks.
  23. Thanks. Yeah I watch a lot of DG on youtube, among a few other guys. Lol i am getting a pile of wasted leather. Or should i say learning of what not to do.
  24. @nstarleather what weight of leather is your grey visage latigo leather? Also are them sides you got & what square feet do they measure? Thanks.
  25. Thanks. I appreciate the info & help. I have really been cutting my toes off at pricing. But I mainly do basketweave type tool work. I am just now getting into leather carving. You tool work is great. Just love it & hope to be at that level someday. Thanks. Great looking wallets. Very nice stuff you are producing. Nice!
