  1. idunno what that means
  2. Yeah, SOMEBODY gotta he capable of a little humor now 'n' then!
  3. Oh, yeah... somebody will say .. WHY so FEW? Because these are not '50/50', but rather made to 'wrap' a bit.
  4. I 'think' I have parts currently for the sig 938 / 238, the G43, the Shield 9/40, the XDs 3 1/4", small and large single mag pouch, and shortly the Sig P320 full and compact models. Have to weed through the boxes to see just what else i have "around". Thread in 207 and 277 in black, brown, some red, and 346 in a grey (ish) ..
  5. Nope, not at all. SOme folks might benefit from this / others maybe not. Either way is fine See there.. I knowed it!
  6. Oh, yeah.. I don't use saddle soap (except on saddle parts and baseball gloves ) so I forgot about that! But it will include instructions, for those who care to look at 'em. Wait for it.... shortly someone will claim that "Jeff said saddle soap is bad and you shouldn't touch it"
  7. Tired of buying a side to make a couple of holsters? Tired of "settling" for low-end leather to avoid a 'minimum purchase"? Hate those "kits" that claim they fit everything from a quarter to a 5-gallon pail? Before long, I'll have pre-cut (DIE CUT) pieces available. Still stewing over just how to go about pricing, just what to include, quick and relatively inexpensive shipping. More dies being made currently. But these will include leather parts die cut from Hermann Oak A and B, and W/C skirting, thread (in a few colors and weights). And the stitch line pattern for THAT firearm (holes not pre-punched - no mindless lining up). So that would leave a fella needing glue, dye, and a needle 'er two ...
  8. Yeah - I "tricked" you with a simple question? Alrightey, then ... The question was '' IF you have a "list of guns", what is your reason?". Some don't know, and some know but prefer not to say, all of which is whatever. What baffles me is how far some will go - and how out there --- over questions which were not asked. I remember that one thread a while back, where people got scrappin' mad that Jeff said you shouldn't use a round knife. Problem was, I've never said that.
  9. Oh, this came around again? The response seems consistent - "here's a list, but if it isn't on the list I'll make it anyway"- Which - of course - was the reason for my question originally. Initially, my question was about "guns I build for" -- had nothing to do with "blue guns", molds, or wait time. I conclude that the actual factual answer is closer to: 'We have a list because we saw other people with a list, so we figured we should too'. Much like a 'makers mark'.. we have one 'because you're "supposed to". Meh... whatever ... each his own. Silly me - I still sometimes ask a question and almost expect an actual answer. Guess I'll learn ... Must be a 'forum' thing, I guess. Just came from over at 'cutesy', where they have changed the payment system slightly. And I mean almost not at all. And there's a thread in the forums (currently 103 PAGES of posts) full of people complaining about something that is not what what was said at all. Some of them are "tired of being told what to do" (I guess someone made them use cutesy?) and being "bullied", and they are quitting and closing their stores. But not until next month ...
  10. Yeah, they're dyed. They come with the edges wrapped, so they can be sewn as well without a 'raw' edge showing. WIth the one in my pic, I don't know that I'd machine stitch it (but I might). LOTS of pockets, and I wouldn't want the stitch to tear the edge of a pocket. If you're doing a simple checkbook - pocket on each side - (does anybody do those any more?).. then machine away.
  11. Yeah, teh Chaylor inserts are made in australia, right? They just "distribute" them here in the states - they don't make them there. But I have used them, and I like 'em.
  12. I didn't like the SLC interiors at all. Too thick, with a tacky, cheap feel. Like that stuff you used to see in tandy kits, only heavier. On the other hand, SLC does sell teh Chaylor inserts. The ones I've used were actually quite decent. They're a bit more money than some you may have seen, but in my opinion worth it. $30 (ish) versus sewing 13 pockets with lining ...
  13. Thanks! For the 'welcome' AND for not stuffing my mail box
  14. It's not the cost of the lighting, actually. The question that must be asked, if MN has such a "dilemma" about ID cards and govt spending, why are we paying the governor to spend time on this?
  15. One more reason to reduce the tax liability in every conceivable way. Your tax dollars at work... MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) — Friday marks one year since the death of ... Prince, and Gov. Mark Dayton has declared the day will be deemed “Prince Day” in the purple state. “Prince ... showcased Minnesota to the world,” Dayton said.... Among other things, the Interstate 35W Bridge in Minneapolis will be lit in purple, as it was a year ago... And somebody thinks I should pay for that?
  16. Lookin' good! Ask her to help with the holsters, too... one of the best tools for geometry and design is a 6th grader
  17. I used to have a 206-RB5, and it did not "come with" smooth feet, but they ARE available for it. I'm sure Bob can fix you up if you ask.
  18. Bad news is, those snaps at Tandy are so inconsistent, I've had the setters work just fine on one or two, and then not fit the third one basically at all! Had a tandy manager get better part of wet-cat mad a few years ago... went in, complained about that. Guy says it'll work -- yer jus doin' it wrong. So ,,, course I said "show me". In fact, IF you kin show me... I'll take 1000 of each snap AND the setters. He and his helper buddy went through about 30 of em to get maybe 5 that worked without fighten' em. Jus kepp gittin madder alla time. The SHOW was worth the price ...
  19. 'Yellow belt' is spelled S C R A P L E A T H E R I have an embossing wheel thingie, and that's a piece of scrap I used to center it. Now, it gets used to shape the loop in the back (long as it holds up). Better pic now available (show me section).
  20. You are welcome -- and thanks for using them for exactly what they are intended for! This is the point -- a guy can get some experience, without investing a 'mint', and actually have a useful item when finished. Sewing isn't anywhere near as difficult as it's made out to be. I've seen lots of folks -- some of them just kids -- who were shown how to sew and off they went. Years ago, I bought Stohlmans book on hand sewing and the basic tools it recommends (it wasn't available in digital form back then) and went to sewing. As with anything, practice is good. But I was making good stitches in about 3 or 4 projects .. and I'm not that bright Much like anything else, there will be people who will try to convince you that what they do is "so" skilled that you could only hope to ever learn it by listening to them. The world is coated with books -- and now why-tube videos -- all on about these topics. But I have yet to see any which improved on what I found in books I bought years ago. Hey, I 'get' it... why spend $10 on a book you don't read when there's a free video about it, right? But it's not 'free' if it's taking hours of my time and - truth be told - these things have people doing more video watching than leather crafting! Better, I think, to get people the general information and let them jump in.
  21. When you make these, you gain a good bit of strength if you stitch OVER teh top of the front pocket -- just go one or two more stitches up
  22. Pic is pretty crude -- didn't bother too much since this thing is a LONG way from dry, much less ready to go. Full size Sig P320 :
  23. As of this morning, just over 81,000 free pattern downloads. That means -- well -- very little Still, good to see folks getting some use out of those!
  24. How come yer chestnut is so much browner than my chestnut??!@~!
  25. Keep in mind that there is an antique FINISH and an antique STAIN... not the same.
