cannot help you on the rivet machine.but the 2nd photo is a Tandy Embossing Press. they are avaible at the Tandy stores.

OSBOURN MAKES A 1/4" BAG PUNCH THAT MIGHT WORK FOR YOU. IT WOULD BE EASY TO GET RATHER THAN HAVING ONE MADE.

OK NOW TRY THIS......above the needle there is a screw that when unlosens will enable you to move the needle very close to the hook on the shuttle, so the needle almost touches the hook. is the needle almost touching the hook? hope this works.

no i used an older osbourn 4 prong 1/16" punch ,the angle that you see is the way the thread will lay after saddle stiching.

hello cousin............yes i do have a mould that i shape the two sides to. if i shaped the leather to the canteen it would have a tendency to colaps on me. so the moulded leather works best........

Thanks all.......... Mad Max22. that is 8 cord tappered thread 60" long that i bought at Ludlow Thread Co a few back. i should have used 6 cord but have mis placed it. now i am tearing the shop apart looking for it. i have 8 glass bottles (flask type)that i will be covering with leather next..

Osbourn tools makes an ARC PUNCH, THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED.or if you are handy with a few tools you can make one from a SS pipe or i have did it with a galvanize water pipe before.

well i got this far....... molded leather canteen...7-8oz leather , hand sewn quart size, it is not finished 100% yet. i have now got the information as how to post the photo
