  4. Which is best? I use both Fiebings and Angelus and gradually switching to Angelus as my primary dye. Both are good products but I seem to enjoy working with the Angelus products as they have a great selection of items I have found to work well for me. Between the two, I would say that it is a personal preference thing. God Bless. Ray
  5. I have no idea what mask should be used to obtain best filtration but I use pyrography on leather and have developed a method that may be of use. I place a small clip on fan, slightly to one side of my work area and use it to pull any fumes away from me and circulate elsewhere. It has worked very well. Also placed a larger fan behind me, placed in such a way that the fumes were carried away from me while working on leather other than veg tan. Placement is something you must determine as you don't want the fumes and you don't want the fans to cool the pyrography tool, to a great extent. God Bless. Ray
  6. Take a look at www.standardrivet.com They have a decent selection of spots. God Bless. Ray

  16. WOW !!! The topic of Tandy booting out the guilds, non kit displays, and no longer permitting non-kit items to be made in their stores, seems to be happening throughout the country. Just called the B'ham store in Alabama and nothing seems to have changed there and guild still meeting last saturday of the month. May catch up to them soon, if this is indeed the direction that Tandy is heading. I am not in an area that is close enough to a Tandy store so not able to participate in the guild activities. I do not think that guilds having to meet elsewhere will have much bearing on Tandy business but not a friendly way to do business. The kit aspect is not something that I would expect to make the business grow. The advancement beyond the kit stage is something that they should consider as nearly everyone moves beyong the kit stage as they progress. My opinion. Classes going to be conducted and if so, pertaining to kits only? No more tips or advanced methods allowed? Not good, if that is their plan. Will these changes be good for the independent shops? No idea, but their should be some niche they could fill. I believe that shops such as Springfield leather could handle any changes Tandy may make. Time will tell. Hope this issue does not cause the craft to lose some future crafters. Just have to find them and direct them to this great site. Would be great to hear what other Tandy stores have on tap for moves such as we are reading about on the net. God Bless. Ray
  17. Hello MJ, Visit www.turtlefeathers.com and look at the Angelus dyes and other related products. Excellent products, favorably priced at $11.00 pint or smaller 4 oz. bottles available if that is best way to go for you. I use all of the Angelus products and purchase nearly all of them from David at Turtlefeathers. Good folks. I do purchase some of the finishing products from other sources. Hope you find what you seek. God Bless. Ray

Great job Stewart. First one since eye surgery? I can imagine that it is a good feeling to be able to get a better view of what we do. Never tried to make a baseball. Has to be a great challenge first time out. Keep at it and make many more. God Bless. Ray
