  1. Go to a Head Stone maker and ask for a waste piece. The one I have is 5 inches thick and it is the best for setting stamping or skiving. You can also go to a counter top place and get scrap I have gotten both for free.
  2. I'm curious on how many sides of leather does it take to make a saddle also how long.
  3. Springfield leather sells the Same thing
  4. Do yourself a favor and get a speed reducer. With the speed reducer and a servo motor you have more torque and even slower and more controlled sewing.
  5. I loved the one I got in the 70,s when I first started leather craft but then years ago I found leather wranglers and that is by far the best blade I have ever used.
  6. Take the bobbin out. There is thread around the latch that holds the bobbin in place. Do that and your problem is solved.
  7. A speed reducer is your friend it adds torque and it will reduce the speed more. Leather machine company or Toledo industrial sewing machines.
  8. I would do the cut out and add a piece of plastic over both sides and stitch it in place and then stitch the outside edges.
  9. I have to ask what is the purpose of reducing resolene with water.
  10. A speed reducer is always a good thing to have. With a speed reducer you will have much more torque to punch thru thick leather
  11. Frodo I would like to apologize for my nasty comments so I'm very sorry for what I said. You at least are doing things and posting. Like I said I am very sorry for my bad behavior and I also wanted to apologize to the other forum members.
  12. Your work looks like a 1 year old child. And race has nothing to do with this.
  13. I use 9/10 oz Herman oak for the handles and for my gun case's. Getting the leather wet and rapping around a piece of rope.
  14. Beautiful work as usual from you.
  15. Thanks but it doesn't answer my question about max thread size.
  16. I am in the process of buying a almost new Pfaff 145 h4 from a friend. My question is what is the max size of thread can a 145 h4 handle. I know that it uses a 190 needle system but I'm not sure where to buy needles for it and also bobbins. Any help is very much appreciated.
  17. Those are the best looking holsters I've seen in a long time. Excellent work you do.
