Champion D 8" leather splitter for sale. Handle was broken at one time and brazed. Blade is sharp and splitter works. $1000

I have had them both and you can tell a significant difference by look and feel alone. Just the posted pictures are enough if you know what you are looking at.
-
I'm sure it is probably stronger but it comes at the expense of changing the look so you have to determine for yourself when to use it.

+1 Quality is determined by examining the product itself, not where it is made. I have ordered from both suppliers and IMHO Buckleguy is of significantly higher quality. Whether both products are made in the same factory is something I don't know and my guess would be that neither does anyone else posting here.

The rust puts a wonderful patina on a gorgeous old machine. -
It's available here in the US.
-
That would certainly be fun.

I use a planer blade jig, a piece of glass and some wet/dry sandpaper to sharpen mine. Works great.
-
I have one just like it that I never use but I'm surprised at what they are worth.
-
As good as it looks right now I'm not sure any attempt to "revitalize" it might make it worse.

+1 on the Tiger Thread. That is the only thread I use now including in my sewing machine.

How do I make good Leather Shoelaces?

Good leather shoelaces are expensive but it's hard to believe it's due to the leather cost but maybe it is. I've never bought any as I always thought they were overpriced. -

If I were making leather laces I would cut them from either latigo or bridle leather. -
Handbag Hardware supplier needed.

Yeah, it's a shame they can't still dump their chrome plating waste into the city sewers. Sensible environmental regulation/protection coupled with the labor cost for the buffing necessary for high quality plating probably did drive the process to China, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia or any of the rest of the countries with low labor costs and non existent environmental protection. -
No one makes hides but indeed Tanneries do turn raw hides into "leather".
-
I'd say you, sir, are correct.

I think they also look like stitch cutters buy I don't know why you would need three of them.
-
I think 2-3 oz. is too thick.

1.6 amps @ 110 volts would only be 176 watts. My guess would be that while running it might draw somewhere around 6 amps @ 120 volts and I don't know what the starting current for a servo motor is but my servos start and run fine on a 110 volt 15 amp circuit. I'm sure the motor probably runs fine off of a typical household circuit as it looks to be just a pretty common servo motor...nothing special. I'm not sure the author of the post knows what he is talking about and I sure wouldn't trust any information coming from this advertisement.
