Making a money belt
broncobuster replied to Big Papa Leather's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
you could buckstitch or lace the edge to attach it as a decorative but usefull. I have a machine but if I had to do by hand. Id do a liner whole length of belt put a zipper in the liner n add to belt with the lacing or buckstitch. i would glue liner on also but leave the area where the zipper is un glued. Bronc -
hide house has a moccasin type wool. i made a couple pairs still experimenting. they have different colors. Bronc

thanks Johanna. no pockets its just wide open. like i said i just whipped together. it suppose to have a stap over middle with a clasp but i never put it on. it can easily have inside pockets. or outside one like yours. or the zipper on top. Ive had lots of complements on it plus orders to. its one of my favs for my patterns. should see people look when i need to unpack it for some reason lol 3 checkbooks, wallet, business card holder, calculator, pens n on n on lol. they wonder how it all goes in there cause it dont look that big. ill scan the patterns for ya for the top part. there is like 4 of them i think. or design your own.

Hey Johanna that almost like mine. heres mine. it was a throw together cause i needed a purse so its really not all the way done. suppose to have a strap with clasp but its not on yet. tooling not the best. hide n clay could do much better. I could too but there way better than me. this is just the way the pattern is made. no alterations or additions.

First purse
broncobuster replied to Surveyor's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
thats an old tandy pattern kit. my purse is the same pattern. the bag part in the pattern can be smooth, suede leather or denim. i get lots of comments on mine an a few orders here n there. pretty simple to make. I like this bag a lot. this is my second one I made for myself and I dont make much for myself lol. nice job surveyor. keep up the good work!! Bronc -
The Ultra leather looks and almost feels like leather. it works good for show chaps and small projects. Ive used it a little but mostly make ultrasuede chaps and use the ultrasuede for acessorizing once in a while. but im mostly a leather person. have fun with it. Bronc

Ive used many different imitation stuff. just make sure you use a longer stitch if you are sewing it and not to back track over it, the smaller stitch n back tracking acts like a perferation n eventually down the line will rip. but it works good for bags, chaps, etc

hey Bev. i do ultrasuede chaps i get. look at the suitability site it has the patterns n list of suppliers, as for the elastic i have same problem finding. I do have elastic wide enough just for the thigh area which is about 6 inches wide. i put inserts in the biker chaps. n they like it n it helps but not the length of the chaps. the ultrasueds i havent put any elastic in them. there is also a place i just found out about i the cities ther ultrasued runs about 19.99 the place i get mine from is 40.00 yd an it escapes me now the name. lol (sometimers) hope yhis helps some. well im game again still finishing up the first round but it was fun. just hard trying to figure what to make lol to many options. everyones ones projects are so awesome so far. thanks Bronc -
I have a neels saddlery machine. my problem is the feed foot(bottom feeder) or jaws whatever you want to call it lol. is really sharp n it leaves marks on the leather. ive adjusted the pressure foot but doesnt make much difference. If i file them down will that work? otherwise ill just call them thanks Bonnie
