  1. That replica is awesome Badger!! Love it, looks very true to the original that you show in the pics with the girl. Great job, I'm jeaolus!! Tom
  2. Love it David!! Your seat always looks great and as usual also the braiding!!!! Tom
  3. Very good looking set! Great job on the painting! Tom
  4. Great looking doorsign Luke!! You're a lucky man!! I just LOVE that lacing. It was a nice new touch to see it done that way! Tom
  5. Heey I still use my hands, lol!! I do also spin my piece of leather alot when I carve except for stuff to big to spin around. Doing the fine lettering for my rodtubes was extremely difficult because I couldn't spin the leatherpiece. The first rod tubes lettering needed massive touching up with the modelling spoon after it was carved and tooled. I think the modelling spoon is very important. It can't make up for a poorly cut line but even the straightest/most accurate line I can carve still looks better after a bit of modelling spoon touch up and also I use it to round of the contours a bit. Tom
  6. Thanks Clay!! I feel that that I'm the type that displace just about anything with or without senilestrings!!! It was quite expensive one time when my neighbour asked me to look after his elephant and I misplaced him in my fridge...poor thing froze to death!!!! That is a beautiful and classy looking case RHall!! Yeah, gotta be careful with eyeglasses, expensive and very fragile. I also thought about a snaplock but was afraid it could also damage the glasses (the frame). The ones I can get takes quite some force to close but most of all I think the type I used now was suitable to the case. Yours is alot sleeker and mine is actually made oversized and this was also because i was worried about stress damage to the glasses. I asked customer if He wanted me to make it sleeker with more molding but he liked it fine just the way it was. Tom
  7. Good looking sling Madmax!! The loop really adds to the look. Gona make a loop for my next one, customer wants it to hang small prey from. Tom
  8. Ah now I understand!!! Thank you Kate!! In Sweden we call those senilsnören = Senile strings ;-) From the beginning he wanted just the case but later found out he wanted those strings/lanyard. Tom
  9. Thank you very much all!!! I actually wanted to line it but customer wanted to keep the raw leatherfeel at the inside so scratching the glasses is his prob. ALL of my customers ask for a natural back so that is why I almost never line/slick and/or colour the fleshside of my work. Kate: can you explain the term lanyard to me plz?? This case sure has Tom written all over it ha ha but I blame/thank my customers for the kinda signature I use ha ha but it really is my first hand choice aswell. MY Ambassador tells me to not overuse the combo and move on with other colours. The closure is two layers of goathide ONLY glued (Very pro, yeah right) but I do want to see how it holds up without stitching over a longer periiod and customer agreed to this. He can allways come back and get it redone for free WITH appropriate stitching. Gunna have to make me a cigar case in the future. Thanks alot Tom
  10. I use my other hand to hold the film down and I've learned how to follow the the pattern at all times without having to spin the project. Tom
  11. Again a chaos symbol AND black/red combo (hey, that's what my customers want;-) but different customer. This case will hang from the neck and keep his glasses handy at work from a twistbraided cord made from goathide. It was decided and added after original design was layed out so stitching position was not optimal and it could have looked much neater if it was sewn before I laced up the sheath, blah!! It is a basketweave braid (off course;-) and the back is plain black so didn't take pics of that. I also made up a keyfob to go with it as he wanted the back clean. I made some molding towards the bottom to ensure the glasses would not be squeezed and take damage when pushing then in and out. I worked the inside with an old cigartube while leather was still cased (I did pour some water from inside too before molding). Tom
  12. Those look really really good Josh!! Those long elliptical lines is so hard to nail when you cut out the shape...gives me the creeps everytime ha ha. Carving them as borderlines for the motif is much easier I think. Looking forward to see you cuffs done!! Tom
  13. Hello and welcome to the board!!! That thing is amazing, I want one too;-) Looking forward to what more you can come up with!! Tom

  16. I just had to make a keyfob so it will be easier to see that my makers stamp is supposed to resemble an eye with my compass star logo in the center as the center of an eye. Not sure this vision of mine comes through but I use the name 1eye1 as sorta business name so wanted the stamp to be in relation to that and at the same time have the compass star incorporated to it. An oval shape seemed to be pretty common so I made it in diamond shape instead. Tom Edit: Thanks to John K Karnes aka Indypbear for making my Delrin stamp totally happy with it!!!!!
  17. Good looking armguard, the tri-weave pattern that goes around is neat. Tom

  21. Hi and Welcome!!! We're almost neighbours since I'm in Sweden and Netherlands definetly got some Scandinavian heritage about a thousand years ago. This is the right place to be stunned and study. Some members are truly amazing leathercrafters and we're proud to have them here. People tend to be very helpful around here so never be shy to ask if you see something you want to learn more about. When you post pics make sure they don't surpass the upload quantity 1 mb and remember to hit the upload button after you have found and attached your file. I forget this often and sit and wait until the lights go up for me. Tom
