  1. Brian I bet you would 3D print your supper if you could .... nice tool for sure.
  2. Mike, Thanks for the reminder...for some reason I drifted back to the utility knives.... not like I cant use the round knives... maybe there are in the wrong spot in the shop. Mutt.. while I have a set of the Stohlman knives (not bad but not best) Terry's stuff is hard to resist.....
  3. Thanks guys. And as for drawing etc most of my florals are adapted from existing pattern sources like the tandy holster packs and pinterest picks etc. I could not free hand any of this yet.
  4. That is very cool. And I am sure the young man will have it on him for years to come.. maybe even pass it down. Personally I like the overstitch wheel run for a little detail on the curved edges rather than what looks like the chisel line on the straight edges. Still both are a neat idea. I usually just run a line with a wing divider or creaser...hmmm will have to try your trick and see how I get on with it.
  5. Thanks noob. One day soon you will have to change your handle to notsonoobleather...
  6. Hah just found the other holster I made for him in this set.... HW75 but he wanted a Texas Ranger type deal so he go this....
  7. I knew I had used the pattern on another holster and found the old shots. This is a Weihrauch HW75 pneumatic target air pistol and made for a good friend of mine who lives in Vancouver now but was a life long special forces op and has led an amazing life... including living down the street from Evil Kenevil who taught the kids all how to ride motocross... that a million halo jumps to places he cant talk about... any how you can tell I respect the fella so I was please to have been able to make these for him. He also needed a little cross draw for his favourite Fallkniven F1.. some of my leather is so old I keep forgetting to re-oil them first with a little NFO and I believe that's why I am getting wrinkles on the back side more than not. (so is my own hide as a matter of fact...)
  8. Jeff thanks and thanks for the photo fix tips...these were done with a crappy old camera and there is only so much to be done without a real photoshop guru going at it! I am much more careful now taking product shots. Murray
  9. Thank you guys for the compliments. I have to admit most of my imaginative designs are seeded by scouring the interweb for inspirational photos of much more accomplished makers... who I am sure have looked at historic patterns and similarly been inspired... we just keep passing it all around. And the client always has a challenging ..." can you do something like this?" statement to get the juices going.
  10. Billy is spinning in his grave pardner... shame... you can show them off here!
  11. I have always liked it. I believe i first saw it uses on a dvd by Chan Greer for a sheridan style note book cover. Good little video covers all the basic including some helpful basket weave tips.
  12. Dont cut the straps until yoi wrap then around the pouch with the pistol in it. But yes some time they ateaps sanp to the flap it make it easier to feed through the drop loop.
  13. Yes I was surprised how straight forward this was but I have been pondering that two tone would be a different pattern or at least a little more stitching. Once into it I realised its not all that different than the shooting bags I make (with Velcro closure). I am going to pick up some smaller zippers today and am already looking forward to making another one. There are a few places in town where these would sell well on consignment.... Yes I found the fake piping thing to really help on some projects.. I still need tog et better at it...also use it to run a ridge down the middle of some gussets so they don't flop down... ends up looking like there may be a divider in the bag but its just this stitch line... helps keep it open. I have seen this on some saddle bags actually.
  14. Thanks guys. Thats the pebbler i mentioned in another post that i think lools good and takes less time than the seeder or checkered backgrounds though i beleive is far less " traditional."
  15. Thank you sir. I like that basic duke pattern and use it often as is or a little modified.
  16. This was made after I cut one too many patterns for an order and decide to play around with it and just sell it on the firearms forum... which I did. I used the Will Ghormley Duke holster pattern. Shown here with a Denix replica as my real steel was away safely stored at photo time. I called it the Black Rose for obvious reasons.
  17. Using the pattern from imager that was posted on Yintx's dopp kit thread I gave this a quick go. It made from some hand me down leather that I am not even sure what it is and has a distress look an a little bit of the "pull up" effect people talk about. Anyhow the dimensions are goofy as I just used the shorted zipper I had and fit it into the scrap of leather I had. Strap/handle is too long also perhaps...BUT... as a quick proof of concept I an pleased with how quickly this can come together (machine stitched though). With bag things and soft leather I like to run the fake piping look stitch along the "corners" to give it some body...that and stuff it with news paper for the photo shoot! So now when going through my road side couch hide supply I will look for pieces large enough to make one of these and keep some shorter sippers on stock.
  18. Congratulations! Have fun and lets see what you can make now!
  19. Have a look at this production model and how they did it. good front and back angles. my bet is the leg thing also goes through the bottom/back of the pouch to further hold the it down when drawing.
  20. Come on noe open 'er up! Let get a peak inside.
  21. Well it is fine result and well worth your effort.
  22. Thanks Wiz and Bob It is all set up and is making excellent stitcjes top and bottom with both 69 and 92. I installed a teflon presser foot and the previously mentioned reducer and am very happy with the whole machine now. Time to set up the pfaff 335. Waiting on my new old pfaff 1245.
  23. Like this? Any further counter clock and it comes off the thread. Further clock wise and it starts to pull the thread over the disc again.
  24. Thanks Bob. Just to be clear i am to loosen the screw in the casting and rotate the whole upper tension assembly...OR back the tension thum screw way off and rotate the disc and spring?
