  1. Singer 95k. I think this spring is out of alignment and rather the keeping the thread centred on the discs it is pulling the thread across the inner disc. I think this is a cuase of fraying i get sometimes. Help?
  2. Thanks Regis. I have made a lot of messes along the way. And likely dis not take pictires of those so you will jaut have to trust me!
  3. As long as the loop is not to close to the top of pouch dampening the pouch is all you should need if that. I would not stretch the loops. You want them.snug as they hold the holster down... to loose and the holster rides up when drawing. For pictures just reduce the picture size to 100-200kb and drag and drop them to the area below the text window when creating a post.
  4. Wow so the found it in a barn dream remains alive for all of us! Nice cleanup job. I think what yoi are after is a swing down (or otherwise attached) sewing guide. Sure Bob can help.
  5. You can wet the holster pouch and they usually will flex enough to get through the skirt loop(s). If you want to convert it to a version with an attached pouch strap then there are no rules that say the strap cant be attached behind the skirt versus in between the skirt and pouch. I would suspect in between is more preferable to reduce points of wear on the back of the skirt. However, of your strap come from behind the skirt you will need to trim the skirt contour to be very close to the pouch contour or it will get pulled around the pouch. There are strap down style where the skirt is hardly visible at all (especially Buscadaro and drop loop style rigs) and is really only there to feed through the belt drop loop and accept the strap. Can you post some pictures?
  6. Sorry if the picture look weird but the originals were really dark so I tried to bump them up a little so see the details. Made for the same fella as the big arse Bowie floral frog sheath...I still owe him a double sheath... little knife on big knife deal... I guess when you don't have time to make new things you can always look at your old stuff....
  7. I order a much smaller consew motor pully (2 inch) and found some brass banding in my rive shed which allowed me to shim the old larger motor pulley onto the machine and ta-da!!! even more reduction. And I rigged it all with a spring tensioning system so it is easy to tip the machine or just remove the belts. I made a video of it running but my photo bucket is actin up so maybe later. if there was a clever machinist here they could make a ton spinning out larger machine pulleys that fit these weird shaft sizes...
  8. Shop is shapping up Mutt. Rockoboy nice idea for the hardware.
  9. I envy your beveling work on the florals andit looks sharp over all. Would love to see more picks showing how it works with the phone etc.
  10. A little... still more of a teen slacker than budding skin hacker... but he says hr wants to learn so thats a positive for now.
  11. Yee haa! and yes while the figure carving is excellent I am also very keen on that boarder. Well done.
  12. Thanks Regis and I think the secret is to time the maul with the tremors!! I have an order for this style for a S&W model 25 6"bbl but haven't had the time to get to it this summer....soon I hope.
  13. I do have a MedicAlart stamp I had made and will be using it on the more production cases with red acrylic to make it "pop"
  14. This is for my son to go back to class with and made to hi rock and roll looking specifications. He wanted a large front "pouch" versus pocket which ended up looking like a dopp kit stuck on the front but he is "Cool" with it. We need to add a water bottle side pouch once he decides which bottle is cool. Not a class act but very sturdy and easy to fill up. Machine sewn on the old Singer and went easier than the first one I made for myself that's for sure. For those who are curious about materials this is 100% pure road side couch hide! But the strap work is Tandy drum died 'Warrior Shoulder" which they put on sale dirt cheap a few times a years. Not heirloom leather but very cost effective and durable.
  15. I was cleaning off my dresser and unearthed these two old pieces. Each designed to hold my Epipen and two small cases one for allergy meds and one for heart meds... yaa.... cost of a lifestyle gone by... but I ain't dead!! I love wearing both of these as they are actually more comfortable than the more obviously "case" like I wear now... but both drew too much attention as they looked very side arm-ish. I was actually stopped on the sidewalk by an LEO driving by (always a surprise when they do a u-turn and come to your curb) who said " I assume your are a police officer.." I looked at her and said "no why?"... then she nodded at my waist and I went "Oh No - Epipen holder".. and then very very slowly showed her how it worked. That was with the little burgundy unit which is still the most comfortable worn at the 4pm position (almost invisible under a suite jacket) and my favourite but gathering dust. It show lots of wear and has held up very well actually. Next time I would round the corners on the belt slots wings. The tooled one has a flap which helped keep the sharp edges of the Epipen case top from scratching but also made it less obvious what I was "packing" so.... on to the dresser. These were both very early projects and full of learning opportunities and nice to look back on.
  16. Very clean lines and well executed. I think I will try that pattern for the bottom fold up.
  17. Welcome and interesting name and case design but hey...open 'er up and lets see inside! I am sure you will get folks suggesting you look into how to finish edges and give that a go on your next project. If you liked making a case you could order the Tandy PDF set of the Stohlman's "Art of Making Leather Cases"... lots to learn in it and good design ideas as well. Am I m sure we would envy your wood working so were even there... just keep making and sharing.
  18. My DVD just arrived and it is on the schedule for this weekend!!!
  19. Using a chuck on the arbor press ram is a great idea. I am sure one of the scout will catch the leather bug.
  20. Well its what I wanted at his age so... myabe I make 2!!!
  21. Showed my son.... guess what he wants old Dad to make now. Thats a beautifle piece of work. Wow.
  22. Looks like a Will Ghormley pattern from his 1911 pack. If it is how did you like working with it? I have the pack but have not gotten into it.
