  1. I also think I we "prefer" the Pfaff but the Adler deal is now adding a sew quiet servo, speed reducer, foot kit, and lots of other extras.... Thanks all for the input so far. Stay tuned.....
  2. Eric thanks for pointing me to the Tandy book.. I meant to download it many times and finally did. Nice work by the way. Mike that's all amazing work as usual.
  3. I can acquire either of these for $1000 CDN and for that price - (both n working order and recently serviced and set up for leather work) - the Pfaff I will need to put an old clutch motor on for now but the Adler comes with a servo so.... Which would you take?
  4. Agreed on the length making a slide difficult. I made a pouch/case for a customer that did the trick.
  5. Well done and thanks for the tip on the lantern itself... the power often goes out here at the farm and those would be great to have around.
  6. Nice sheath sir and always nice if we can see the blade out beside it for more ooooohhh aaaaaahhhhh factor.
  7. Any other help identifying this sub class etc?
  8. All that colour and alternating thread colour to boot. That a lot of patient work and it paid off.
  9. Thanks for the info. I will pass on this since it also has to be shipped.
  10. Not to hijack but.... would a Landis #1 that has been in use and well maintained for $1700 CDN be a good deal? ... It would have to ship so there is that cost to consider. I just don't have an order of magnitude value for these old machines... And I deal with Aaron Martin Harness and they are great to deal with. The brother (literally and as Mennonites) company Harness Hardware is also great to deal with. remember you come out way ahead on the exchange rate when dealing us Canucks.
  11. Very nice thank you sir. Still "making space" to set it up on the shop so hopefully next weekend I will be able to put the servo and reducer on it and give it a go....
  12. Here are the feet that came with my Pfaff 335 mounted and loose as well as two other "bits" which I believe relate to the hook. Any help on which feet pair with which would help. (there is no foot B...) Thanks in advance. Foot A Foot C Foot D Foot E Foot F Feet installed Other bits
  13. Is it a decent machine?
  14. This plate data doesn't seem to match any of the charts I have to decode the sub class of this 335. Any help? Thanks as always.
  15. Vendor hasn't gotten back with name plate details and I am curious if anyone recognizes this machine?
  16. I had a vintage 39A briefly but had to sell it...long story... have a 60S now and it is a straight shooter as well. Still would like to get a 39A as I am a lever lover.
  17. Love the scabbard almost as much as love those Henry Golden Boys... mine is one of the most accurate 22's in the safe. Is the scabbard lined at all? just curious.
  18. Looks good and I really like that buckle. And if the exchange rate ever came up closer I could get in on some of these real deal.
  19. I like the rustic design and am also curious to see the concealment (as paradoxical as that sounds) inside the bag.
  20. I have had the same challenge with machine pulley where the shaft is 12.76mm..... no luck finding stock parts but am still trying to make 5/8 ID with a sleeve work... sleeve is the tricky bit now. And it seem seems the motor shaft is the same diameter...old Consew motor but I found a small diameter pulley that they say will work... just received it and haven't tried yet.
  21. Amen to that. I find that I can only keep positive so long on my own power and need the help of the Maker all the time. Lost Mom to bladder/smokers cancer.... after hysterectomy (50's) and then bladder removal (60's) but it was a lymph node (early 70's) and the pressure it put on her spinal cord that ended her days... pain essentially. My little immediate family, and wider family circle both have lots of challenges (opportunities for personal and spiritual/faith growth for me) and I have always found my time working with leather to be very restorative. I can pray/meditate/stop the squirrels while also focusing on the craft and work at hand. And its nice to spend time and effort on something that the recipient is thrilled with and knows there is no other like it in the world.
  22. Yes those are very neat for sure. Is there a loop on the back or clip?
  23. The loving and supporting a parents I have already been blessed with and I have a hat too... The hat in this picture is really on my real head but if you look closely you can see where I added the background.......
  24. Roland I have never really ever wanted to go back in time and live someone else's life but..... Homeschooled Ranch life in Arizona horse named Patty killer leather working skills starting young time and tools to do it!!! and great hat Kiddo just keep on keeping on and sharing so I can do it all vicariously.
