  1. I was kidding. I don't really tool. It hurts my old construction hands too much. Keep up the beautiful work.
  2. Thanks for putting that together.
  3. I just found them a week or two ago on Amazon. They have 25 meter spools of tiger thread. After an order of that I looked them up outside of Amazon. They have seiwa, tiger thread, even shell cordovan.
  4. Get you some cheap art brushes. A little blue tape never hurt a clean line either. I found on laminating bracelets that wax paper comes in handy as well. I will be using it for belts too.
  5. Rocky Mountain Leather supply has it. They have some nice premium products too.
  6. I don't think you need to wax over it. My experiences with the wax have made all my edges a little more grippy. The tokonole worked just as easily, but it came out a hair slicker to the touch. Shine was about dead even.
  7. Practice practice practice. It takes awhile to get the stitching down. Don't be discouraged in the beginning. Good luck and welcome aboard.
  8. Maverick has elephant and shark available pretty reasonable. Just a plug for Maverick. I had a good experience with them. Lol
  9. Fantastic stuff. Welcome aboard.
  10. Welcome aboard.
  11. I'm throwing all my stamps away now.
  12. Ok, that's pretty creepy. Great carving.
  13. Okey dokey, Thanks Max.
  14. Try sharpening polishing the blade. It made a world of difference for me.
  15. Let me try again..... https://www.etsy.com/listing/399184025/arbor-press-round-pressor-foot?ref=shop_home_active_1
  16. Man this thread was a great read. Thanks to all of you that contributed your time and experiences.
  17. Actually, I haven't played with it very much. Seems like they would. It will set line 20 snaps just fine, though. Funny I bought the line 20 die set and I have to use the hand setter anvil for the dome caps. If I use the press anvil the cap gets so stuck in the die I have to destroy the snap to get it out. Thanks Tandy. I'm sure some dremel work would fix it, but Dangit.
  18. I have been wondering about these for awhile. Maybe they are some kind if clay modeling tools. Like machine run lip molder tools for bowls?
  19. Cool
  20. Congratulations
  21. This a great deal for someone to get into carving.
  22. Sorry about the link earlier. Let's try this one.... http://www.ianatkinson.net/leather/videos.htm Just scroll down the page. He has two on stitching. He is a little wordy but I find his terminology easier for me then Nigel's. Any technique you try will take some practice. It's just one of the many things in leather work that takes time to develop. When it comes to finer leather working I think of it like this..... In the world of gun collector values, 95% of the value is in the last 5%. It has to be in that good of condition to bring top dollar. Anything that is between 95 and 100% condition will bring the best collectors to the table. Anything below 95% is pretty much just a gun. I can't achieve close to 80% yet. I make functional stuff that will last and look decent, but it is nowhere near premium. It's just the most fun frustration a person can wish on themselves. Enjoy yourself.
  23. I have book marked the page. As a non sewing machine owner I will throw out something to consider. I want a machine and I will someday get one. Not anytime soon, but some day. In regards to that, I would love to see a few videos of people actually using these machines. All I ever see is someone slapping a few layers together and having at it. I would like to see someone actually make something and talk about the different feet and why and when you would use them. Where you would use a binding attachment. What you might need to think about before you purchase (outside of sewing capacity) and whatnot. Just something to consider. As a sidenote, Solar, you are in the front running of someday selling me such a machine. I can drive to Dallas to pick it up.
  24. It's a fine piece. The stitching looks like you took your time. Be proud.
