  1. I may take you up on that, but will have to wait a few months. I am too busy to be considered retired!
  2. There is a whole lot going on in that tooling. So many different textures and techniques needed to get to the end result. Excellent 3D rendering, down to the bowed boards. I've always been a bit baffled about how to get a good rendering of an object like a 2x4, and you have those types of shapes all over the place. Clouds, rocks/dirt, plants, framing with coverings, trees, on and on. Nicely done, I can only imagine the amount of learning that had to go into the end result!
  3. Very nice. If there is anything I have learned, it is that nothing in leather work is ever _simple_. Not even a strap!
  4. Excellent work! thank you for sharing with us.
  5. Nice daunting work. I would have been tempted to put a backing piece of leather for the belt loops to attach to so they didn't damage the leather more. What are the decorative rivets? The backs look like cartridge primer and base.
  6. Seriously!? Cool. Maybe I have it then! and I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't do that!
  7. @MtlBiker, @Wepster, @fredk, @Wizcrafts, @Rossr Thank you all for the info! Rossr hooked me up for now, I may need to purchase some individual components to fit different work I do, so I'll keep all the recommendations in mind.
  8. That is a neat flower! Did you come up with it, or is a pattern you have from somewhere? I like how it looks like the wind has it bent out of shape.
  9. I am looking for Pull the Dot Snap Fasteners. Line 24 size. I have found that Sailrite has them, but they want $16 to ship a bag of snaps that cost less than that. Anyone else have any sources that don't charge $2.50 per snap? Thanks in advance.
  10. I like if the snap opens accidentally, they won't fall out necessarily.

    Eyeglass case

It works better than the one I don't have! suffering from analysis paralysis here. Thanks for the tips, I'll include them in my cogitations.

    Eyeglass case

Nice work! I've been trying to think up a way to do this as well. Easy to use over and over and over, without scratching the lenses, or getting crushed when I'm working, or scraping up my belt...or not falling out when I'm working... etc etc. So I just leave the glasses in the other room year after year.
  13. You might want to drop this in the for sale section... check the rules there, needs photos, shipping requirements, etc.
  14. Maybe, but I don't do candles anymore. Still cool to the touch after 3/4 or more down?
  15. I like the idea, but candle fires are a big issue, and I'd be worried the leather might get way too hot. Maybe there is a way to isolate it a bit more from the heat?
  16. These just made me think of the movie "9." Now I gotta make one! Very cool work!
  17. Even the most prized Japanese swords forged by the greatest masters do not polish the Nakago. For me it is wasted energy to be upset at that.

I like that you used black stitching for the belt loops, and contrast stitching elsewhere.
  19. look forward to seeing it, sometimes that is what it takes for me to grasp concepts! Many thanks! Thanks, and yes, I left it a bit long knowing I could shorten it, but harder to make it longer again!
  20. I picked up one of these cheap jobbers on Amazon, seems to work pretty well, but you have to control your angle and pressure. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BPASBK?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details After that, just polish up with a small fine stone if needed.
  21. Nice wallet and design. Maybe use a thinner thread and smaller needle if you want to avoid handstitching? I hadn't thought about tooling kangaroo...

Any chance you still have the Judges?
  23. @JLSleather, Ok, I'll bite. Do you have a CZ P10-F and/or a Taurus Judge 2.5" and 3"?
  24. Thank you. Just occured to me it would look even better with a silver keeper. Going to have to look around for one!
  25. Buckle belongs to the customer. My understanding it was crafted by an individual here in Texas that is no longer able to make buckles.
