    Purse prototype

Thank you. Seems to be a popular take, I'll have to keep that in mind when I do future work!

He does sell the pattern, for some small coin you too can make it yours. Thanks, used a Barry King basket and border on that one. I have many many pieces of scrap leather with unhappy stampings! Awesome, part of why I post what I do. I too get inspired by other's work (like for instance, this Corter design!).

I have a few turnbacks, not sure how to run them, never could get them to look right! And thanks, also not sure I am at the level I could readily replicate what you see there... maybe a bit of luck involved! Many thanks!

I also liked his design, but had to change it up a bit for my tastes! Appreciate it! Thanks! Thank you. Since it was a bit of a prototype, I wanted to embellish it some but not spend years on it. Used a Don Gonzalez pattern on the front, came up with my own for the handle. Was going to leave the handle blank, but couldn't help myself. May do a design for the gusset in the future, then have options on what is and isn't tooled/stamped. (IE blank handle, carved/tooled handle, stamped handle, blank gusset, carved gusset, dyed/not dyed, antiqued/not antiqued, etc. etc., and any combination of the above). I did kinda like the large negative space on the one panel really drawing the eye to the tooling. Yes, I have a design for a zipper installation, but didn't want to spend more time/money on this one since it is a prototype. It can be lined etc. also, which I think if this is popular, I'll do as well. Thanks for the suggestion!
  5. Modified a design done by Corter Leather, let me know what you think!
  6. Nice work! That antique job looks like it came out top notch, also!
  7. Great set up, both gun and holster! How do you decide how far past the snap to extend the retention strap? Yours seems to be a couple of inches...
  8. Here in the South, humidity is regularly over 60% inside. So sometimes I run a dehumidifier, and if I have tooled or stamped leather I need dry fast, I just set it in front of the dehumidifier. One or two hours later even fairly thick leather is pretty dang dry. No heat, just really dry air blowing over it works wonders. On the thin leather kits you mentioned, would probably be dry in 30 min or less.
  9. Great work!
  10. Nice work. I've been wanting to do the disc bound journal for a while, but kinda uncertain how to do it. Did you leave a plastic sheet under the leather, or just cut the leather and add the discs? I worry they would work loose over time...

  12. Nice!
  13. My Vergez Blanchard wheels leave slanted marks... a pouncing wheel does not tho.
  14. Interested in the inspirational word set.
  15. Condolences on your loss. You are in the right place, there will be plenty of interest here. Post photos and prices, location shipping etc. as mentioned in the marketplace rules, and you will find buyers.
  16. Very nicely done, and kudos for understanding that EcoFlo dye. Not many seem to get it to work so well!
  17. kudos with the creativity! For not tooling too much, you took on the advanced pattern quite well!
  18. I really wanted to, but just too dang many things going on all at once, so I don't see it happening right now. Best of luck to you!! Lookin good so far, look forward to seeing your final result!
  19. That is really nice looking work! I love the color as well.
  20. nice!

    Nothing new but

    two impressions, rotated stamp.
  22. Was going to suggest that one. I have one, it works well for me. But again, a lot of these tools are slightly different from one another, and one may fit your working techniques more than another, regardless of price.
  23. I have some tooling veg tan shoulder leather from Sedgwick that is fairly flexible, and I can't wait to try it on a project. The sample tooling I did on it came out very nice. You might see if they are still making it and get a sample. Mine is fairly heavy, I think 9 oz or so I think (3.5 mm?). I don't know if they have heavier.
  24. Been daydreaming about building one of these for a while now. Have some sketches started, so maybe in a few years? Nice work!

    Enjoy it

Nicely done, thanks for sharing! I finally know what the lining and pockets can look like for a piece that I tooled, lol.
