  1. Nothing looks quick about that at all. Craftsmanship is top notch, you are putting out some stellar stuff these days. Kudos, and hope your buddy truly appreciates that!
  2. If you don't mind doing a little sanding and rust removal, here is a metal set on Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/225421094197?hash=item347c24ed35:g:t08AAOSwxFtj6ugH&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoKCA%2BJ7fbgDyTfGeRtqnvRpC6gc99aKo0DhZbp6TQi%2Bz3fmUuV0ZdSbQ6qK4bZ2Ocy2B4JFnjNnLZY%2BoTyPMMBfEVompQewCg0Aybj5Xa0Eiq2npdyUvazg3dnAGdR0KoweVm2wawSgfqj6uooFHm9f%2Bpki9KrxKeTx3mG%2FkXS8DdmbZGDWUbD9JnGG68ATDYhWeR0MM1tIN%2Fvvxpx4dIN8%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR5q9v6vKYQ
  3. I just use it to slice a piece of paper. Hold up the paper and cut with the blade perpendicular to the edge. I can feel if there is any drag where there might be a burr, or a nick still. It should go through with a fairly quiet shhhhhhtttttt sound, and not leave any jagged edges in the cut. If it hangs up at all, back to work. Go straight, make curves as you pass it through the paper. I know it's been a hot minute, but how did your edge come out?
  4. Faces for sure are not easy! Really digging the technique on the hair.

    Loveseat

Looks great! How did you get the hair on to not stick out as it rounded the corner from the top to the front side?
  6. For sure a great job! Really like how it came out.
  7. Incredible bit of tooling there! Nice!
  8. Yep, gonna second that. superb!
  9. What happens when you dye it again? Just looks to me like not enough dye especially since I can see the applicator marks...NFO could help too. I put it on, then apply again in another direction, then do it again in yet another direction. Very liberally too, as in I'd use around 5-7 oz dye for those pieces.
  10. Thanks so much! Tryin to keep up with my skills and learn new stuff...
  11. Thank you. Just my phone, a really good light, a springbok for the background and a lot of good luck! Many thanks!

    I made a thing

When the stitching is the fun part of the project.... @Rossr nice work! Interestingly, I also made a thing recently...but no tornado stitch...
  13. Appreciate it! Thanks much! Pretty simple, I just put dye on the flesh side, then after it dried, I brushed it with tankote, and slicked it down with a glass slicker. Would be much better to get it from the tannery already dyed and gum-pasted, but it is what I had so that's how I handled it.
  14. I see a hornets nest. Here ya go, here's a stick. Lemme know how it goes...

    Wallet

That's a great long wallet. Wish I could get my bar grounding game up to par, your's is definitely up there!
  18. Seems to have done the trick! ?? Usually works for me also. The logout/close window/new window/login seems to have done the trick. Was able to post more images of the hip bag I did with the fur on cow hide I bought from you some time back! Came out pretty good, thanks! I'll keep it in mind, I usually just try to make sure all the images I post stay under the 1.4mb limit.
  19. All right, finally got to get this image thing sorted out. Here are some additional photos, showing how I addressed the ugly edges. I made a "T" out of the liner, and did basically two rolled edges with it. So the top section you only see leather, and not the layers. Then, I dyed the remaining edge black so even if you do look at it, not much to see, so it does not distract from the aesthetics. I also made the side a bit more vertical, which prevented the gusset from pulling away from the ugly edge, exposing less of it. Reduced the width of the rolled edge on the front. Changed the profile of the cover as well. I think it lends to a more masculine look as well. Thanks to @tsunkasapa for the images and suggestions, as well as @Hags and @Stewey regarding dye on the edge, @Tugadude suggesting more rolling for the side as well, @chuck123wapati for decreasing the angle at the top of the front plate (making it more vertical) and @RockyAussie for reducing the width the rolled edge. I debated @chrisash suggestion, but decided to try all the other options first to see if it got me 90% of where I wanted it to go. It did inspire me to roll and stitch the topside of the gusset tho, so there's that! Thanks again, everyone, I think this version of the design is much better with all these suggestions. YinTx
  20. I tried that too, no go. Maybe I'll just log out, reboot and see what happens...
  21. I had no idea. I'll mention everything is made from EnVIronMENTALly FrIEnDlY plastic.
  22. Thank you both. I would show more images, but LW is not letting me upload anything just now.
