  1. I think a stainless set for me when they are ready no rush no pressure thanks
  2. Electrathon any chances of getting closer to a test fire? Not trying to be a pain in the arse I am comtemplating pulling the trigger on one myself but would like to know what your results are like.
  3. Thanks Capt, Dwight, Josh, and Byggyns this will end up being a first for me as mentioned above' there have been a few misses but this one I think will be a hit. And I want to make it a homer as this is for a repeat customer that has give nothing but high praise for the work I have done for him, so I would really hate to blow it. I will Capt, I need to touch base with my customer to let him know that I can make it for him.
  4. the one my customer owns has a 3.5 inch barrel, I did locate an aluminum one at Boise Foundry for 50.00 with shipping. And I do have the El Dorado pattern that I can modify to make work or at least that is my thinking, I have been asked several times in the past to make a holster of this type and this time I think it will happen so I would like to make it the best I can as this is a repeat customer.
  5. Cimarron thunderer, they are both the same but you know that if you have one, if anyone is willing to rent one for a few days or lead me in the direction of getting one, please let me know. I would much rather buy than rent so again if you know of a good source please let me know. Thanks Ron O n S
  6. Electrathon, how is the build of the laser coming along? I am hoping you will have some good info on that machine for us here in the very near future. Thanks O n S Ron
  7. Thanks, it is coming along well, I was told it would take a year so no rushing I have plenty of time.
  8. Billy you did this with tools meaning none laser or with a laser. And electrathon I look forward to your report.
  9. actually dinosaur scales, the stamps are sold by on of the members here
  10. It is in the drying process, the fit on this could not have been any better in my opinion, in fact it was so tight that I decided to put the gun in a bag while it dries. I still need to do the touch ups, more oil, and clear coat, this after 7 weeks off for a total knee replacement so I'm still kinda gimpen around.
  11. yes, but Uwe I (think) are going to be built to different specs
  12. I noticed that the one Wiz is showing is using the stock plate on the machine, the one that Uwe is thinking about making works with the flat plate that Uwe was selling and indicating would work with the ones he is thinking of making. So there must be some differences in measurements from the stock to the flat, just my ramblings anyway.
  13. If some reason if The wiz meets his fate on the way to be your huckleberry, you can count me in fer helpen ya out. and for those that are interested Cowboy Bob has 3 or 4 sets in stock at the time I spoke with him a few hours ago, and they are running around 150.00 give er take, would like to know what the Uwe price might run ifen bob runs out, I figure theres enough work out there fer every one.
  14. cant winem all or all ways hitem outa the park.
  15. Well I bought a tool that is kind of high priced to install the one way line 24 pull the dot snaps, but it did come with several adapters for different type of snaps, it ran close to 180.00 with a mounting plate. However there are other options to that tool, the adaptors can be bought alone. If you google pull the dot snap tools you'll find a few different vendors, however the costs all seem to be about the same.
  16. Are you looking for metal or kydex plastic type clips? Tandy carries a few different types of clips as well as weaver and other leather suppliers, if it straps you can make those yourself, but depending on snaps those can come from a variety of different vendors depending of the style you want to use. And last but not least tensioners I think most guys make them themselves with supplies you can get at Lowes or home depot, even hobby Lobby will carry items in the leather art department. As for me I make my own leather straps using regular line 24 snaps as well as one way snaps.
  17. Look up Induscousa.com their number is 8003474472 you will find what your looking for at the right price and wont end up on a mailing list. Once you buy you can thank me and I'll let ya know how much you owe me, check em out!!!!
  18. Just curious but did you check out Sail brite fro this type of snap, I might be wrong but my recollection is telling me that they might have what yer for.
  19. you don't have listed what your location is, and It really makes no difference how much competition you have, if your work rises to the top among that competition, but one thing to go by as a rule is that you can only go as high as your market will bear. I hope some of that made sense, prices can be all over the ball park and you cant really go by what others have to say, you have to figure out your own market and who you are marketing to. Take Stetson for example his listed location is the Southwest. Depending on where exactly that is, is going to help drive the price of his goods, but also like NV said if this is going to be a thriving living business you cant be afraid to charge what you think your product can earn, but DO NOT GIVE IT AWAY!
  20. they way you are wording it I take as though you are moving and the machine is moving with you. With that being the case you take the head off the table wrap it up in some bubble wrap, it doesn't need to be a lot. Leave the motor, and table, assembled unless it takes up to much room and load that as a whole unit, there really isn't much need to do much else, wipe down the oil tray so that doesn't get oil all over everything else. If your shipping by motor freight that is a different animal but not by much, but I'll address a little of that just in case. If you are shipping by motor freight I would have the head strapped down very tightly to the table top, or you can remove the head, but you will need to have it all strapped down to a pallet, before strapping down shrink wrap everything together after it has all been strapped down to a pallet. Others might have more ideas on how to package and ship.
  21. that post is 2 1/2 years old it might not be up any more!
