  1. Hello Tony and welcome to the forum! You should find plenty of resources on this board to make your cup. Good luck
  2. Good luck on your search.....not too many around. If you get put under the gun, give Cobra Steve (on this forum) a call. He owns and runs the Leather Machine Company and has a bell skiver unit.
  3. Nice work......And, greetings from the bottom of your hill. Welcome to the forum!
  4. There is no link that I am aware of. I believe they are out of production and no longer in business. You can find all of the items on eBay.
  5. Your second photograph are small wood carving tools. I actually use them for filigree leather work.
  6. In photographs #2 & #3 you are a plastic stamping tool set made by 'Carver Tools." There is actually a swivel knife and booklet that is available. Enjoy!
  7. Those are really pretty. Hats off to you for getting those holes cut without chip out.
  8. Okay, let's see if I can help. In photo #1, you have an old saddle swivel knife possibly a C.S. Obsorne (check to see if the blade screws on) There should be a name on the inside of the saddle (where your finger goes). The second one on the right, is just an older Tandy or Craftool adjustable swivel knife. I doubt there will be an engraved name on it. There are about 3 different styles of barrels (I think) a smoothier checking, medium and coarse checking. I am sure Wyoming Slick might be able to provide more information. In your second photograph, the tool on the left looks a lot like a modeling spoon, possibly a vintage C.S. Osborne. The two tools on the right with wooden handles are just single line creasers used to decorate the ends of your projects. In the third photograph, you have a F series smooth beveler commonly used for figure carving projects. There are a whole set form small to larger bevelers in this series. finally, in the last photograph, you have two lacing awls. The blunt points are so they do not pierce your calf or other type of lacing materials. Enjoy your catch!
  9. I would interested in any swivel knives that he may have had in the collection, so long as your offer is not accepted by the requesting party. Thanks.
  10. Clay will not be going to Sheridan this year. As for Chuck Smith, I am not sure if he will make an O ring though you are right his knives are smoothies. Either way, good luck. Keep up the great work!
  11. I agree with Zuludog as the rule Al Stohlman taught many years ago. I have several stitching groovers preset.....one of them is set up at 3/16" that I kinda use regularly. I usually do not go above 10oz anyways. Good luck!
  12. Very nice miniature set up! Also, nice pair of vintage Tandy manager sales knives. They will be smooth working forever!
  13. I know that Barry King can make one and still has them in product, per request. You are right, they are made from Brass much like the vintage Midas ones. I would check with Bob Beard, Pro Series Tools. I have one of his O ring saddles, but his barrels are black and gold. Another option may be Clay Miller Tools, Temple Tx. He custom makes SKs. Good luck and happy early birthday.
  14. Just wanted to put this information out here at the request of Dave Smith from the Lonestar Leathercrafters Guild. I am told that only 8 spots are left, so if you are interested please contact Dave at the contact information listed on the flyer. The class will be held at the Elk Tracks Studio in Venus, Texas (South of Fort Worth) What a great opportunity to learn from a leather master. Kathy Flyer1.pdf
  15. Hello Gordon and welcome to the forum. Nice work you have shown here.

    Hello

Mitchel......Hello and welcome to the forum! I would also like to throw in YouTube as a great resource especially for armor making. I would also check your local area through Google for a leather guild that you can visit. If you can see if you can arrange for your parents or other relative help you get a subscription to the Leather Crafter's & Saddlers Journal, which is a great magazine for leathercrafters. If you run into any problems, just drop me a message here or on my blog. Good luck!
  17. What leather are you using? I oil my leather after dyeing the project and it gets most of supple back. I am using Wickett & Craig and Hermann Oak leather. Now, if I need to oil and do not want to darken it, I have found Extra Virgin Olive Oil to work very well. I primarily use Neatsfoot oil for my remnants of Tandy leather because of the blonde color. I will also put it in the sun for about an hour or two. I also use Fiebing's oil and spirit dyes for all of my projects. I no longer use eco flo or water stains so I am not much help there. Good luck
