The download site says the trial version shuts down after 15 minutes, but can be restarted. Is there a way to turn that off, short of getting the license? There is mention of a "community version" in the website docs, but can't find it anywhere. Thanks, Jeff -

Well done! Don't you just love those small projects that you can finish in an afternoon? -
Yep, that's the same design. I should have known the hobbits would be into that kinda thing.

Ha! I forgot about that one! Good times. You're killin' me!

Slightly off topic, but not really...Anyone remember the old bit about the effect of punctuation on a sentence...i.e, "what is this thing, called love?" As opposed to "what is this thing called, love?"

A local restaurant uses Buddha bottles for soy sauce. Never seen them with actual beer in them.

Ah, yes, now I get the idea. Vast quantities.

NewWork Belt

No kidding, looks like a "Sunday go-to-meetin'" belt to me! -
I'll need to practice with some heavier leather when my Cowboy 4500 arrives, looks like a good idea for that! Styrofoam should last a lot longer than the blue insulation board I'm using now. Plus, it is too light, every time I pick up something out of it, the whole thing comes with it. The needles sure go in easily, though.

And think about it, to get the multi-colored work, you need to buy all the colors!

"Old Nr. 7 Brand" is another one lost to the ages. And, Mutt, Negro Modelo is their best beer, shocked you don't know that! Jeff

Bush, or Busch? My trophy wife saw Lou Brock steal 104 and 105 in Busch Stadium. Good times. (She wasn't my wife then, trophy or otherwise.) WAY off topic. In my just recently ended life in dental equipment repair, I had a tech say that he thought WD40 was the best lubricant ever. He sprayed some on some guides in a dental unit, and they slid perfectly for a while. Sadly, they needed the application regularly after that. I had to inform him that it was a solvent, mostly, and less than 25% oil. So, mostly, it was cleaning off the previous gunk, and dirt/dust that the previous application had attracted. The remaining lubricant had dried up and he was back to needing a good lube. Heck, 3 in 1 oil would have been better. He now understood why it was great, for a short time, then the cycle began again... And I'd heard that the lime was to clean the rust off the mouth of the bottle, as the cheap steel bottle caps left a nasty rust ring on the bottle. No biggie, just looked bad, you know, for the tourists. Don't know...don't care, I drink Negra Modelo, exclusively, as a cerveza. Mexican beer snob. I'm so ashamed.

Sure, just remember...what goes up...

"my entire house is a "Man Cave" and my entire property is "Man Land". What more could I ask for?" Ya'll got a shooting range out the back deck? Maybe out to 1000 meters or yards? NOW we're talkin'!!! Jeff

Well, I don't know how long it's been, but it was when you flew the coup. I had asked if there was a specific formula for the front piece on a 80/20 holster, or something like that. It's been a while since I asked. I'd done a holster for a rather petite pistol student, for a Smith 3914 that I'd sold to her. I thought that when she tightened her belt, the thing would hold on to her gun with a passion. I've done a couple of your patterns for "less than 80/20" holsters, but don't know if there is an easy formula for the 80/20. I could waste a boatload of leather and time figuring it out for myself, but, since you have obviously done the bit, maybe you have a tip? Thanks in advance! Jeff

It they'd said hand stitched, that would be different. If I roll out the hide, cut it out with a round knife, carve it or stamp it, as opposed to using an embossing machine, then dye it with a dauber, and buff it with a cloth, bevel the edges with a hand beveller, burnish it with a wooden burnisher by hand, then stitch it on a Cowboy 4500, you can bet it was hand made. Then machine stitched.

New project...petite clutch
alpha2 replied to motocouture's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
The big round spot is a placed to put the "cap" when you're dipping into the glue. Stetson the physicist is right. -
That work has been on this forum before. Last year sometime, if I remember correctly. Couldn't say where, but it raised quite a few eyebrows at the time. Amazing edges.

I've found with my new Renia that sanding is important for the glue to stick, and it doesn't stick to pig-suede unless you don't want it to. Then you can't get it off. Haven't tried the contact version yet. I'd need another glue pot for that. Also, the temps here caused a bit of a delay for shipping so the stuff didn't freeze en-route. Veg-tan to veg-tan, flesh to flesh was an instant bond while wet, with pressure. Oh! And, nice clutch! -
Cowboy boots make GREAT holsters!
alpha2 replied to MoRoadglide11's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Hmmm. I've got this old pair of water buffalo boots. I could use another holster for my 1911. This is something I'll have to research a little more! Thanks! -

Holster for Ruger Red Hawk .44 Mag
alpha2 replied to Rohn's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Thanks! Looks good. Of course, now I can't do one with basketweave and camo border...hey, I've done enough holsters with that, I think I'll go crazy and do a floral carve on mine. It's been awhile.
