  1. Most times for me cropping out the extra from the photo around the edges is enough to bring down the file size
  2. NorthStar had some grey hides, not vegtanned, but nice leather. May be worth a look. It was in the for sale - leather and lace section.
  3. Here is what I have been using. The ones on the right are cheep ones off amazon wich I have been very happy with and far better than the 4 that fit on one handle from Tandy. The one on the left is a more expensive one from goods Japan. I would not hesitate to buy those cheeper ones again.
  4. Nope, I will stick to my rum and Coke.
  5. I don't think I have ever seen the bottom of a bottle of wine so my supply of corks is not there, lol.
  6. If you don't want the dog holes, a piece of dowel and some glue and the hole can go away
  7. What are these two and what would the be used for if you don't mind me asking?
  8. Nice work!!
  9. I had not thought of that, good idea. Some times with white or cream I will sometimes pick up some crud on the thread.
  10. Here is what I use mostly. It is very similar to tiger thread but cheaper and comes in more colors. http://www.acathreads.co.za/images/Shade Cards/Amann/Serabraid_ColourCard_Scan.pdf
  11. Si, I went into more detail in my first post. I was just pointing out that it sounds like it would work for this application quite well
  12. So her is the bit I was talking about. It goes in a drill. This one I believe is for a 1/4" hole. I used to use it on some rubber that was about 3/8" or 1/2" thick and reinforced with nylon strands. It worked nicely. No heating required. Pricey though, I believe it was like $28.
  13. I am not sure what that material is. I have a hole punch that is made to go in a drill. It is shaped, on the business end, much like a hole punch you would strike with a mallet. It is used in making holes in very heavy rubber conveyor belt and attaching the hinge seam. I originally got it from applied. If that sounds like something you might be interested in I can try to remember to take a picture of it this evening to help in your search.
  14. There is a thread somewhere to regrets membership. Should be able to search for it
  15. The only thing I see that may help and has not been mentioned, are the lines left by what you are using to aid in pulling out your chisel. One thing that helps with that is polishing your chisels. Some say to rub some beeswax on your chisel, I don't see any difference with wax. One thing that I have started doing is pulling out of the scrap underneath first this use as little pressure as possible. Sometimes set the strip between the chisel and the edge, it is less noticeable out there. Hope that helps, Brian
  16. My feelings are they are just to week. Some week magnets can be useful, my iPad case has a week magnet that puts the iPad to sleep when closed. And to large of a magnet is no good for electronics and I don't know we're that line is
  17. Here is some veg tanned dyed burgandy with white stitching.
  18. I know it is feasible, but I don't want the risk. If I knew for 100% how strong of a magnet I could use then maybe. But for me the cost of finding out is to high.
  19. I have taken a liking to serabraid. You can get it from RML, Southwest sewing machines out of Houston and also solar sewing machines on here
  20. Pm sent
  21. No I think your fear is valid. If the magnet is to strong, and cards come in and out of the magnetic field a lot, you can wipe your card. I would also be scared to put the magnets next to my phone. I purposely do not make card wallets cause I worry about choosing to strong of a magnet and wiping someone's card. I don't want the liability or the bad press that would follow. As far as the two pictured, very nice pieces.
  22. You could have a die made and use a cheap harbor freight press and a couple steel plates. Poor mans clicker.
  23. I personally think it would look better without the foliage around the skull, I think the skull would stand out better. 2 or 4 corners hard to say. Carving looks good though.
