  1. I run a C02 5000w Mitsubishi laser at work, no time to do side projects.
  2. I didn't mind how it was constructed but wish it was made from harder wood. You could cnc one made from plexiglass laminated then flame torch the ends and sandwich some leds in the middle LOL.
  3. https://www.etsystudio.com/shop/DreamFactoryKR/?ref=l2-shopheader-name He does have different sizes if you contact him.
  4. Little King Goods posted this stitching pony on his IG and had to order one. It came from Korea in about 2 weeks a little pricey for what it is, it is very nice and very portable. I am going to put some leather on the jaws love this design I think I might have to reverse engineer this in walnut or oak.
  5. This guys work is unreal so perfect, I follow a lot of Asian leather workers on Instagram and theu do work that I could only dream of.
  6. The good ole days, when the world was more relexed. My first job as a machinist, I used to go out with the older guys during lunch and we always threw a couple drinks down. I couldnt imagine most employers today would be to happy.
  7. @Mjolnir let us know what you do with the test tubes. Make a leather holder for them and carry them around your waste and fill them up with your favorite liquor.
  8. Edges can be time consuming I used to struggle with them until I asked many of the small leather companys on instagram. Look at Little King Goods edges they are perfect he had helped me out a ton. I since then bought a wooden edge finisher for my drill and a drum sander.
  9. Thank you very much, I am pretty new with a sewing machine. Making my first tote bag out of leather and canvas, I mostly only use leather but have just bought a bunch of duck canvas. I must have watched over 100hrs of sewing tutorials didn't realize how many things you needed to know for sewing regular fabric. From picking the right interfacing, zipper installation, different ways to use interfacing it's fun and a never ending learning process.
  10. I use 92 size thread is the #8 the same size didn't see a size chart on there site. The color choices they have are nice and it's priced pretty good.
  11. Thanks for being so open about your business, I work in a small family owned fabrication shop. We only use stainless steel and we buy it when ever the prices seem low. We have over $1.5mill in flat stock just because the price was right.
  12. Nice is that a homemade handle? I used to use Gillette razors and stopped since they are so expensive and I shave my head so I use a lot of them. I know buy my razors from Harrys razors they are half the price and work just as good if not better. They deliver them right to my mailbox.
  13. Here is the one I bought it was from China but only took a week and a half, pretty good for overseas. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dot-Red-Laser-Light-650nm-5mw-Printing-embroidery-machine-Sewing-Positioning/222457729334?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D44039%26meid%3D10a9a8d644e941feb3f2af6cdca265c4%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D322276887941%26itm%3D222457729334&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
  14. The clamp came with the laser I just had to modify it and use a small L-bracket instead of the big round base it came with. You can find some really good adjustable clamps that are meant for gopros or other types of camera gear at BH Photo.
  15. What kind of skiving machine did you pick up. I am looking at the Highlead, I just picked up a Juki 1541s.
  16. I use a Juki 1541s when I go around a corner I have to stop with the needle down in the corner. Then lift the presser foot up and pivot the material then drop the presser foot. Depending on the radius I will do this the couple times going around. Works good for me, if your material is shifting your presser foot pressure might need to me increased.
  17. Very nice your work always looks great. Whenever my daughter and I go to the mall, she gets mad at me. In Macys or other stores I stop and pick up the purses and look at how it was made. I really like Micheal Kors designs they aren't over the top and clean looking. Do you skive any of your edges before you sew them?
  18. New addition to my work area from @Gregg From Keystone Sewing a 1541s with a speed reducer. I found a laser on ebay for $18 and had to make a mount, it turned out to work out great. I just set the laser to what ever line I scribe or right onto the needle. Next machine I am going to get a bell skiver and an electric edge creaser. I can't stop buying tools I have an addiction to getting new things.
  19. I use a Yoga cork block to jab all my awls, needles and other sharp objects. Its pretty big 10x5x6
  20. Here is a video of a gusset its not in english.
  21. Very nice my favorite band what did you use to paint the letters? Angelus leather show paint works great on leather and it is very durable.
  22. This is an old thread and I just came here today to find out how to change the oil flow to the hook on my Juki 1541s, love this site very helpful. I was getting spotting on top also but it seamed to go away I hope you find the help your looking for. Would also like to hear what you can do about oil coming down from top since this is my first machine.
