Covid-19 and disinfection of leather surfaces
Rbarleatherworks replied to Gymnast's topic in How Do I Do That?
Good Question .... Following -
I think most things can be sharpened but you just need to get creative on how to do it. I have taken a thick thread and rubbed jewelers rouge on then fed it through those small holes and pull through to do some sharpening. Just a thought

I'm sure this is the dumbest question ... but how do you get the printing on there? -
I love that ... and I love those bells! May I ask where you got them from? I have been wanting to make exactly that but haven't found any nice bells like those. And How did you end up attaching them?

Singer Treddle Pressure Foot Marks
Rbarleatherworks replied to Rbarleatherworks's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
ooops Sorry ... its a 29K51, this is not a pic of it but it is very similar the only difference I see is that the wheel is on the end. and yes there are teeth on the bottom, that is what is marking the leather. I can pound some of the marks out but not all. So was just hoping to find a way to lessen the problem all together. Thanks -
Hi there Just looking for thoughts on how to lessen the pressure foot marks that my singer treddle machine leaves on my projects? Thanks

Scissors Holster - What weight/type leather?
Rbarleatherworks replied to Wellington's topic in How Do I Do That?
I used to make horizontal scissor holsters for Paramedics to wear. Here are some pics, not sure if that will help at all, I know they are not the same scissors but these might give you some ideas :-) They were made from veg tan 5/6 or 6/7 oz. Some are Left draw and some are Right. Also some have solid belt loops and some have velcro tabs to attach. -
i Would like to make some placemats ... looking for some ideas. Has anyone made any before? What leather would be best? Should I put a backing on it? i was thinking chap or oil tan for the body then some decor with veg tan around the edges.
