I made this mini backpack for my niece. My oldest daughter saw it and said she would not mind having one lol. Well I secretly made her one while she was out at work. All was going fine until I was coming to the end of my stitching. I had stitched a panel backwards. Was not happy pulling thread late at night. The morning of the 24th I was in the "zone" restitching my mistake, and it made it under the tree in time for Christmas morning,PHEW! The turquoise is 2-3 oz Venice Italian leather, veg 3-4 oz , Fiebings pro dye dark brown, antique brass hardware. Rhino waxed brown tread. 10 worn out finger tips!

Have you tried changing up the order of your steps? Maybe try painting after the antique. I have done it both ways, and it seems I always have to repaint for a crisper result in the paint when I antique after. Even when I use Pro Resist, over the paint. Just a suggestion. It is just one of those things , it gets down to what is the hide going to do. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

They are a very good company to deal with. I had a clicker die made about 3 years ago, and it is still sharp as the day I got it, and it is used alot. They really know what they are doing, and the whole process was easier than I expected it to be.

Very nice design, the skirt is the right size, not too large, and blends really well with the rest of the sheath.

If the design has been done before, I sure have not seen it. A very WELL THOUGHT OUT, and highly functional holster. Very nice tooling, and I think the rough out makes it pop! Most excellent Sir!

I recently purchased a Venice turquoise hide, aniline tanned. How can I get the chemical smell out of it . I have had it airing out for about a week, and it has helped somewhat. Is there a conditioner, maybe saddle soap, that anyone may have come across that can help.
