  1. A little Wyoming history from my town . https://www.wyohistory.org/encyclopedia/big-nose-george-grisly-frontier-tale
  2. That is a good idea indeed, i make a few of my stamps out of stainless bolts, the threads aren't fun to hold so i was using that shrink wrap for electrical wires to cover them. These would be much better.
  3. Here are some handles i made for this cool but pesky little tool. It is a combination groover, marker, and has three different size edge bevelers. Problem with it is its a pain to keep changing tips, the allen screw wears out and i drop those little pieces constantly. So i made handles to fit the bevelers problems solved! The reason i'm posting is i will make anyone here a set of handles, for these or any other use, unfinished or shellacked out of whatever wood with burnishing grooves if wanted for a 20 spot. If you would like more finish, a certain wood or something that will take me hours to make then we can discuss pricing.
  4. beautiful vintage type pattern indeed.
  5. i had to get that light display it makes an awesome desktop background. My bro bought a plum crazy purple road runner in 69 when he got out. It made going 45 miles to the next town in 15 minutes possible lol. Love that old iron! One of my best days ever, my dad was the master mech at the local dodge garage, where i grew up after school, one weekend we were going up to watch my bro race snowmobiles and the owner of the shop let my dad take a brand new 1970 Plymouth SUPER BIRD to the race to show it off, damn that was one cool ride.
  6. i use iridescents over black for a similar effect on the background Dont know how your gonna get the gold
  7. Dont mind a bit good luck and post some pictures.
  8. don't ya just hate that? Happens to me a lot also seems some folks think a person is just here to answer questions cause they have nothing better to do.
  9. yes They grow fast the first few months, they are finally slowing down a bit.
  10. all your work is amazing friend you are an inspiration.
  11. yes its a slip collar i have designed for my American bullies, they are big dogs that pull like heck. 6 months old and have 17" necks, made one for their mother too she has a neck 23".
  12. its dependent also on the types of leather you are sewing together. I make mine out of two layers of veg tan glued and sewn flat, glued up they become one with no wrinkles but really stiff. With padding and a lighter leather yes they will wrinkle. This is a collar of two layers of 8/9 oz veg tan as you can see no wrinkles.
  13. i wont go farther it seems they have been restructured and not in a good way.
  14. The first is an abandoned barn about 20 miles out of town, the second two are from the great race, came through town a few years ago, we get two or three car groups every year man you gotta love those flat heads there were quite a few hot rods in this bunch as well as fully restored rides.
  15. Thank you friend i appreciate the kind words!
  16. I make my own blade included, i find the curved handle allows me to position the blade so when it fits the hand its in perfect alignment, don't need to look just grab it and go. I just bought a new lathe so turning handles will be in my future.
  17. beautiful country friend bet you had some great times. never seen one of those around here thats for sure
  18. Those are nice looking holsters, are those machine stitched or hand stitched?
  19. Go for it! They are called lederhosen and yours will be usefull as well.
  20. i don't know about anyone else gut i think that is badass work friend. you did a great job!
  21. That's interesting info for sure friend thank you, we went from the rawhide chews to these gristle chew things made from the lower back leg tendon. Problem is they are about $4.00 a pop and my bully's can eat one in an hour lol. I was going to tryr one or a few for making mallets but just haven't got around to it. On your sheaths how do you water proof them so they don't get soft in the field? I knew Native Americans used rawhide for making boxes and such.
  22. First thank you for the nice compliments. Oh heck yea along with your Coleman lanterns and stoves, I've got a few myself and use them, converted one to kerosene last year.
  23. so do you spray your finishes also? My problem with super sheen is that it picks up alot of dye when i brush it on and leaves streaks would spraying it on be better? On this piece it removed and streaked the bison brown then sealed up the whole mess lol. I mixed a bit of sheen with some of the dye and it sprayed well and helped cover some of the problem but puddled easily. Also wondering would the leather being damp help the dye bind better before drying i still feel alot of the dye dries before it soaks into the leather.
